Satisfied. Mine even came with a copy of the previous title!
I’ve been a huge fan of the Dynasty Warrior games for yrs know. Although the game storyline is the basically the same yr after yr.
Great
The best out of all of them!!!MUST BUY!!! They took it to a diffrent level with this one. If your a fan of DW you will not be disapointed.
DW 7 is a far cry above the previous installments are the series. Gone are the clunky renbu fight mechanics, the copy paste move sets for the majority of the cast, and only making a musou mode for less then 10% of the roster. The musou mode has been overhauled, making it closer to historically accurate and brand new. The weapon switch system offers variety, even mid battle. And the combat is INFINITELY more streamlined then in the DW6 games, harkening back to the days if DW4/5. However conquest mode doesn’t quite make up for the lack of a free mode, and the lack of a CAW feature is saddening, even if it is nice to see the return of some characters that had been left out of the previous games. No doubt those features will be in the expansion when it comes out though.
I recently bought this game from Gamestop. When I had seen people say "I liked the game a lot, BUT blah blah blah…." I am like how can you say you really enjoyed this game, because they changed the modes in this game. Hello!!! I think Tecmo Koei actually did a f**king hardcore job with this game. I absolutely love how the characters run a lot faster than they did in previous games. I am sure people remember characters Dian Wei and Xu Zhu did not run that fast and every once in a while you were lucky enough to get a speed boost. I am glad they upgraded a character’s speed, plus you can upgrade your characters speed in this game. Conquest Mode I actually really love because you can switch to any character you want that you unlocked. Another feature I liked instead of having to play through the original Musou Mode that I kind of liked, but did not like the fact you had to play through it with specific characters, going over the same battles, and living through the same cutscenes. It got really old quickly. With Conquest Mode you can play a characters Legendary Battles which only consist of 2-3 battles depending on the character you play. It definitely cut down on the number of battles you had to go through in the old Musou Mode (which was 6 if many did not remember, I also counted to at least 7-8 in another Dynasty Warriors game). Everything is so much simpler when unlocking characters. With the different weapons you can actually purchase them with gold you earn by figh.
I like how this franchise is experimenting with game options such as the Dynasty Warriors Empires series and then the more recent Srikeforce. I wasn’t crazy about Skrikeforce – I wasn’t a fan of the moving around in a village, having to talk to people to upgrade weapons, hoping a merchant was going to come with the item I wanted, etc. I accepted it though because it was just an offshoot of the main series. I was disappointed when I found that that brought that aspect into the game. I was also disappointed to find that the game chooses which character you play during story mode. I liked being able to pick a character and follow him or her through the story, developing the character traits as I went. There are some characters I hate having to play, and it is disappointing that I can’t just avoid them. Please don’t take this as an opinion that this is a horrible game – this is a good game. The graphics are awesome. I love the guardian animals they brought in. Conquest mode has some neat versatility. I also like that they brought back some of the character weapons that were lost in DW6 (such as SunShiang’s chakrams) I just prefer the more traditional games of this series. If you liked Dynasty Warriors 1-6, but you just couldn’t get into Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce, you might want to rent or borrow this game before buying it.
Brings back memories of the old days of playing Dynasty Warriors 2,3,4. Its just as repetitive as always but fun to come back to with small breaks. Building my character and destroying armies will always have its place in this world.
Love it
Dynasty Warriors is a tumultuous series. Some of the games were great, others were below average.Dynasty Warriors 7 makes many changes. The most controversial is the new weapon system. There is no longer one permanent weapon per character. Instead, characters are either “skilled” “competent” or “poor” with each weapon. This is perhaps a great add on, as it allows the player to use any character yet find a weapon they enjoy. I’m personally glad I never have to use Zhang He’s claws. I loathe that weapon. The skill point system, the elements, and plethora of items that can be purchased throughout the conquest mode have kept me playing through its dozens of missions. There are two major areas at fault in this game though; Online play and free mode. Free mode they simply forgot to put into the game. The ability to choose any warrior on any map is not an option in DW 7. Why this mode was removed is beyond me. The other problem is the difficulty to play online with a friend. It takes five steps to set up an initial game, and whenever an officer comes to visit a town (which will help strengthen you bond) you have to temporarily sign off online play. This is cumbersome and unnecessary. The franchise is a pillar in the hack and slash genre, and Dynasty Warriors 7 is an ambitious game to the series. It’s not a genre changing game, but it’s a great way to kill time with friends.
