This is a good squeal to Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It has improved game play, battle sequences, and overall, well remake of DQMJ. However, it still takes an extremely long time to level up the monsters in the game. Awesome game, but it just takes a long time to progress in the game and level up the monsters. Improved game from DQMJ.
Arrived in sealed packaging, sparkling new.As for the game, it’s amazing! Probably the most graphically impressive game I’ve seen on the original DS, and the gameplay is a huge improvement over the previous game in the series.
It arrived quickly, and it works great.
Great Game better than Pokemon in my opinion.
It’s hard to make a review for this game being my expectations were much different than what was delivered. In some ways I feel the game designers did an excellent job, and in others I wish they would have thrown whatever plans they had and made a DQM 1.7 release copying the format of the previous title. Why? Because DQM Joker 2 just doesn’t have the laid back feel of the previous title. Without giving away too much of the story line, you are relatively stranded and unlock regions to search as you go. Some areas feel much less creative, and going to regions feels “game-like” if you understand what I mean. Rather than having an intuitive reason behind travel, a menu like screen with a map pops up and asks you to click which area you would like to travel to, instead of having certain docks that bring you to certain regions as in the last game.Edit: Even traveling inside of a map feels very game-like which aids to remove the player from having an emotional response to the game play. This is done by creating small areas with warp like exits that seem clearly navigable. The gameplay generally goes according to the paradigm: Walk around in small area, warp through a clearly navigable area, reappear in new area and repeat. There are some new things like climbing up extensively high walls and slowly walking across a narrow ridge against a cliff wall, both of which the designers tediously overuse. ***This paragraph is to contrast with relative inclusion of an actual island that is comp.
I love it .
Fiance enjoys it.
Fantastic game. Bigger and better than the first. You’ll get 20-40 hours out of the storyline, and hundreds of hours if you want to capture / breed / fight all monsters. Tons of post-game content. Highly recommended for Dragon Quest fans, Pokemon fans, or anyone looking for a great game.
Great game, reminiscent of the original. Very entertaining, wish I hadn’t beaten it already…
Loved the game
