I CANT BELEAVE THOMASES REVIEW IS STILL THERE WELL THIS IS CV1 YA KNOW LISTEN TO MY REVIEWS SORRY MY NET WENT DOWN WELL THIS GAME IS AWESOME NEW IMPROOVED GRAPHICS AND ITS GONNA BE A CLASSIC SORRY FOR THIS SORT REVIEW AT SCHOOL PEACE OUT WORD LIFE!!!!!
This game is hilarious me and my father love it to death. but the people in it are dangerously RETARDED they run in front of cars and they drive into buildings killing themselves. it is a just for laughs game, therefore it is nothing like GTA but it is not a waste of money because it is crazy and funny. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 stars for optimising the game for fast loading time on the PS2(remember stuntman? took 4ever 2 load)…Everything else is a BIG disappointment -Firstly, GTA reference is incredibly BORING!!!!!!Anybody can model large pretty cities and leave it empty with nothing to do in them which is what REFCUKSHTT (pronounced re-fcuk-shtt) did so no points thereThe AI looked and played like the work of amateurs… terribleThe on-foot and shooting is unbelivably WRONG!!! WRONG!!! WRONG!!!The cover art shows tanner driving and shooting AT THE SAME TIME but oh no matey, you dont get that in the actual game so insulting EVERY gamer’s inteligenceThe driving games never evolved, in fact they have been shrunk down, e.g. Quick Chase only gives you a maximum of 2 mins eachEVERYTHING FEELS LIKE WE WERE ALL STILL LIVING WAY BACK IN 1999 which is very disappointing bcos we’ve since played the GTAs and the Max Paynes and we know what good developers are quite capable of but reflections (pronounced RE-FCUK-SHTT) have decided to do the absolute minimum over all those years…This is really SAD!!! SAD!!! SAD!!! bcos you really want to like the game especially if you’ve been following the series from PSOne like most people and then I heard they are working on STUNTMAN 2! Well you alrady know what you’re going to get there…Bottom line is if they had published this as is 2 years ago it would have been forgiveable, I mean, IMO, they KNOW they are wrong to release this game as is now, but they went on and.
Driver 3 for the Xbox is a third person action game, where you play a cop out to chase down and kill crime syndicates. The game is similar to Grand Theft Auto in concept, but not at all in execution. You can walk or run around on foot missions and explore the cityscape or you can cruise around with a vehicle of your choice. You can play the single player story mode if you want to see the story or you can play free-mode where you can roam around doing whatever you want. I did enjoy the fact that your character can swim in water, I also liked some of the map level designs. You can get on a highway and gas it or go through narrow alleways, you can also enter many of the buildings. Some of the weapons are fun to use although the aiming system is very clumsy. The overall feel of the game is very unplolished. There are tons of glitches with the sound effects, music, graphics and collision detection. Driver 3 was rushed and needed more beta testing before being released to the public as a finished product! Just to give you an example of some of the bugs; My game character’s body got stuck into invisible objects, or his body went through (like a ghost) into a car, the in-game music stops or starts sparadically, ditto with the sound effects, headshots are not always fatal, the police and enemy A.I. is very stupid but cheats to compensate its stupidity, the game graphics are grainy and crappy, the framerate is low and there is no sense of real speed when driving vehicles. This game tri.
This game has it’s flaws, but makes up for it with the fact that it is actually fun to play and has beautiful detail all throughout. The maps are replicas of actual cities composed by walking photogrophers that had to take 90,000 shots of each city! The major downfall in this game is the control, mainly for on foot play. It is very difficult to aim your gun accuratley and sometimes impossible to make smooth runnings around corners and between obstacles. Although, after playing a while you get used to it. Bad controls in a game are like a woman; you have to take time to learn how to touch right to make things go the way you want them to. As far as driving controls, they run a lot smoother. The downfall to driving is that there are only 2 camera angles to choose from. I like to play car games witht the camera far back but you cant do that in this game. You have the standard view and the first person view.I would like to point out some of the other things said by other reviewers. There are complaints that the game is too hard and frustrating. Also that the enemies dont duck down or move out of the way. First, if the game was easy then it would be totally boring. If you are chasing someone down and he gets away you have to start over. For me this just makes it more intense. After trying for the 5th to 10th time to get this guy I am totally enwrapped and thirsty for victory; and it tastes sweet. But I guess I just don’t throw baby fits when things get rough. The e.
comparing driver3 (not the stupid DRIV3R) to gta is redundant. even though everyone wanted this to be the next step in the gta evolution its important to remember that driver started this genre…as a matter of fact if you look at credits for the early driver game you’ll see sam housers name(of gta).anyone who has played driver 1 and 2can see driver three as the natural evolution to the driver series.with driver 1 we got mission based driving..with driver 2 we got curved streets and the ability to get out of the car and “jack” other cars..then GTA picked up on this idea and became the pinnacle for this genre. Now we have driver 3…is it better than GTA?…absolutly NOT….is it better than driver 1 and 2 …a resounding YES!the game is not flawless it has several graphical errors…not to mention that the developers must have thought the game was too short because rather than adding more missions they added extra “CHEAP FACTOR”….MORE TIMES THAN NOT YOU WILL FAIL A MISSION FOR NO APPARENT REASON…IE.IF I CAN SEE THE CAR I’M CHASING I HAVN’T LOST THEM.after beating the missions i was prepared to trade in my copy but then i tried out the take a ride mode. now this is more like it. the missions only let you see about a third of what each city has to offer…take a ride gives you alot of what i expected from driver3 …there are various hidden items all over the town as well as buildings to go into and explore. New vehicles and many more reasons to make this a keeper…i can’t.
This video says it all when Atari KNEW they had a bomb on their hands when they pushed it out the door way too early as a buggy, glitchy, broken mess. So the best course of action they knew was to pay for perfect scores from the top magazines of the day and when the s*** hit the fan, hire a PR company to be very obvious corporate shills defending the game against criticism on forums. This was in the days way before social media, so it got buried, along with much of the evidence that it happened.
I have read some of other reviews from people and I think they’re being way too harsh. I think driv3r is an extremely fun game with decent graphics and great gameplay. People are saying that the controls suck, and I do agree that they are DIFFERENT, but you just have to get used to them like any other DIFFERENT games. I would hardly call these guys gamers, if you are a video gamer then you would just get used to the controls like any other hardcore or even good normal gamers. Anyway, I think DRIV3R is a great game for any console, right next to GTA:Pros:-Fun driving system with variety of vechicles-Good graphics-Cool and interesting undercover mode-Hard to get used to, but fun on-foot gameplay and controls-Highly fun Take A Ride modeCons:-Graphics suffer glitches at times-Sometimes frustrating story mode-No multiplayer
Driver 3 is a driving adventure game that plays like an interactive movie. It is a worthy sequel to the earlier Driver games. It has cinematic gameplay and great graphics on three open city environments. There are issues with video glitches, control issues, locked-up consoles, etc. but most of the time it is a lot of fun. You also have the "Take a Ride" mode for easy driving practice. The mini-games allow for replay value even after you beat the game. If the game had less glitches, we would be talking an easy 5 star rating. The PC version should be even better.
I bought this game a few weeks ago from Target for $23.52 (it also included a 2nd disc with tips) I had a $5 coupon as well. This game is unbelievably frustrating I can’t believe reflections spent nearly 3 years developing this game. While the graphics are nice and some how impressed me some what it doesn’t make up for the frustrating and dull gameplay. Here is a list of cons because there just aren’t enough positives things to say about this game.CONSDriving controls are very sensitive and your car tends to slide like as if it were on iceon foot controls (I like to call it run n gun) are cumbersome to say the least and the aiming system isn’t very good at all either.Did I mention that this game is on the difficult side and sometimes very frustrating? I was on the mission where you had to stop the gator for good and trying to drive and shoot at the same time just PO’d me right off.I have played other games similar to this True Crime Streets of LA The Getaway and of course GTA. Driver may of pioneered this genre but this installment was just poorly put together. Many games of this genre may come and go but Grand Theft Auto is still king of the genre. If you are really interested in checking out this game I strongly recommend renting this (I wish I had done so) or waiting for the price to drop to under $20.
