this game is fantastic. i never thought i could be happy to be home sick for a week but it allowed me to get some serious time in on this finally and i love it. it’s a fun continuation of the story of Laharl. the dialogue, as always is lots of fun. and there is a lot of gameplay potential aside from the main storyline if you’re into building up characters and items.
Almost as fun as the first one, but with overall better characters. The expected demon trio is still there which is all that counts. Overall great grind, great voice acting, hd sprites and all.
Great game, not as good as the main series, but never pretended to be.A few things in it were a little silly which is why I didn’t go for 5 stars, but they experimented with ways to improveon old systems, some were pleasantly surprising.
I finally got time to write a review for this game but there is so much content in this game that I find myself being pulled away to continue playing rather than write a review. 5+ months later, I can finally sit down and write something about Disgaea D2. Please note there IS spoilers abound in this review mainly concerning characters (but I honestly thought it was obvious) and it’s a long detailed review.Disgaea D2 decides to go back to the original cast after fans demanding that Laharl and his vassals become the main characters again. This was already hinted in the post game of Disgaea 4 where Laharl clearly states that he’s going to be the main character after Valvatorez. Sure enough, we get a trailer announcement that the next Disgaea game is a direct sequel to the original game.The story is very simple but does seem to jump around from time to time (but never actually creating plot holes). 10 years after the events of the first game, the Netherworld and Celestia have a pact with each other. The first arc starts with Laharl still trying to get the other demons to recognize him as the Overlord (and the reason why no one has apparently recognized him is that he never made himself known…despite the fact he made that huge challenge in the first game where he destroyed everyone that wanted his position as Overlord but demons must have short memory loss.) However there are a trio of demons that go by Krichevskoy Group who refuse to acknowledge Laharl as the Overlord and that hi.
A great continuation from the first Disgaea with an awesome cast of characters. I have spent I dont know how many hours playing this game now but i have finished it. Speaking of finishing, even after you beat the main story there’s so much you can do. Unlock bonus characters, level up your current characters, take on baal and much much more. You can even begin the main story again. This is a definite must have if you love the Disgaea series DOODs!
I bought this game as a gift for my girlfriend and they loved this game to bits,they couldn’t put it down until they beaten the main quest. I picked it up too and i found how charmingly addictive it is as well. I would reccomand it to any anime/jrpg fans out there. but don’t forget to pick up the previous Disgaea titles so you won’t be out of the loop!
I’ve been a fan of the Disgaea series since the first game came out for the PS2. This entry in the series was fun, and I loved the customization aspects, but the storyline hasn’t really done anything for me. I enjoyed the first game alot more in that aspect. I also really wish they had gotten the original voice actors to voice the characters, they all sound strange to me now haha. Overall, its a fun experience, and I think any fan of the series will enjoy it.

This is the best Disgaea yet. Its as though this time they listened to their fans, took all the things that made Disgaea boring or tedious, things that kept me from finishing 3 & 4, and washed them all away. All your favorite tricks and cheats are still there with some new ones added on. I won’t go into detail because I feel like it would be a spoiler if someone had told me about all the awesome changes before hand. Just go get it!
