My 5 year-old son really likes it as this game is more challenging that most the other coding games we own. The difficulty definitely goes up as you move along and I could see this game to last for quite a while. It says it is for 8 and up but the beginning levels are definitely appropriate for kids that are little younger than that.
This is a must have for kids who enjoy Minecraft and want to learn the basics to programming. I like it because it can be a one player game or multiple players working together on a team. Great fun when the weather is lousy and you can’t get outside and with the levels getting harder as you progress it is a constant challenge.

I bought this for my son and I must admit it’s tricky at times. It doesn’t teach coding really but more about logic and instructing and breaking down commands to simple actions which is great for explaining to children what exactly does a computer program do. It’s easy in the beginning but quickly ramps up and well it take the whole family sometimes to figure out the sequence. Definitely hours of fun or frustration depending how you like this sort of challenge.
Bought it as a gift and the first couple of levels the child breezed through it and then it started getting harder and more intriguing.
This game is harder than it looks. Do not be deceived. My son loves it because it is a challenge. He is ten and plays it with his friends. They love to solve the codes.

As a professional software engineer I’m familiar with both the concepts here and what it means to try to encourage children who have an interest in the profession. While I can’t yet recommend any of the books on getting kids started on coding, this game is easy to pick up, fun for kids who take an interest in puzzles and has just enough of the logic of program execution to give you a sense for the ones who will gravitate towards this naturally. My nine year old picked up the game and burned through the first 20 levels in about 2 days. I suspect that kids who get the gameplay here will probably be ones that take to coding sooner than the ones who don’t. Either way, it is a clever game and well worth the money. The construction is solid, the concepts are straightforward and the presentation is beautiful and amusing.
