i lost interest in the series after 3. this game goes back to the mechanics of 2 and 3. even has the dreamcast control scheme in the options!! if you’re a fan of 2 and 3, don’t miss ultimate.
I got everything I expected and more. My only thing is that the Pre order codes came kind of late.
This game is an excellent game for newcomers to gaming and casual gamers.If you are connected to internet you may like to download the patch from PSN before you play, or your saved games will be lost when updated.Even if some fans of the franchise do not like the realistic look, I truly like the looks. Characters look just cool.The story mode will not win an Academy Award, as it seems written by a 5 year old kid, as it does little regarding character development and lots of pointless scenes. Photography direction is lacking as well as lighting lacking, so it is evident it was not made by a filmmaker. But probably the appeal of this game is the arcade gaming.It fits the definition of fight game with boobs. Girls may find the man made game a bit too much aimed for men, as some outfits and winner anims that are a bit over the top for fan service purposes. But most of the outfits and winner anims are just fine. It only may upset very conservative or jealous girlfriends of male gamers.My wife liked the game, and this is the first game she is able to win. I must congratulate the developers for making a game that is accessible for people like my wife who never played a videogame in her entire life. This is the first game she won in story mode. It is so cool that it can add gamers to the gaming community by having this kind of accesibility for beginners.I find this game very entertaining when it is for arcade gaming for casual matches for single player.My only regret is that.

Fun game. It’s different from the other games that I’ve played. The area’s you can fight in are awesome and the fighters are all pretty cool.
It took me awhile to finally break down and get this. I got off the series since 3 and 4 were only XBOX. I don’t like to skip in a series. LOL. But I’m glad I waited. I would have been bummed out if I got the regular then had to pay for, pretty much, the whole game again with extras. The movements are still fluid and fast. Tons of costumes to unlock and of course download. And the of course the eyecandy. LOL. The characters are all beautifully done. The shaders are awesome with the wet, sweat, and dirt as the fight goes on. You can still button mash, but I suggest learning moves and blocking. I’m happy with this.
