Dance Paradise – The good: 1) The best soundtrack of all current dance games, 2) Simultaneous 2-player multiplayer, 3) Ability to create custom playlists, 4) Ability to watch full-length music videosDance Paradise – The not so good: 1) Lack of sufficient tutorial mode, 2) Dance consists of strings of dance moves rather than a single choreographed routine, 3) Music is so good that the shortened dance version begs to be longer, 4) Will occasionally lose track of player (but rare)Dance Paradise is another dance game that is available for the Kinect Sensor. It plays like Guitar Hero or Rock Band but instead of hitting a note on 1 of 4 lanes, you do dance moves on the lane. It has a “dance power” that behaves like the “star power” of Guitar Hero. The user interface controls quite well. It utilizes Kinect ID well. Menu navigation is quite easy and the control is very good. If you don’t like navigating the user interface with your hand, you can use a standard 360 game controller. There is a slightly frustrating element to scrolling through the songs though. If you like to flip through the songs slowly so you can see what the song is, you can hold your hand over the arrow button. However, it’ll advance slowly for only 2 songs. If you hold over the button for more than 2 songs, it’ll start to scroll really fast which may cause you to skip pass the song you want. So if you know the song you want is a few songs away but not far away, what basically happens is that you have to hold over.
I like it & so did the children, It keep them active & off the couch. I highly recommend it.
I just received Dance Paradise over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. I like it for exercising and for the family. Our whole family enjoyed this game. I like that the people that show you how to do the dance look like gumby, flexible people without normal facial features. They actually make the game kind of fun. If you are looking to do something fun with the family, this would be a good choice.
If you love dancing games this is a good one to have.
Good dance experience. Good music selections. Less realistic dance interface than DC but still enjoyable. More active than casual dancing.
bought it for a friend who was giving it to a young girl the girl really loved it and having a blast playing
I am a middled aged white dude. My daughters bought this for me for my birthday. We think it’s fun.
Initially I didn’t think I would be a fan of Dance Paradise. I loved DDR (for Wii) and tend to prefer Dance Central’s setup of dancing "on stage" but was pleasantly surprised. Dance Paradise features some good, real choreography moves and musical selections for multiple generations of family members. What I like:-Real pop/hip hop choreography moves. Hands down this is the best part of the game for an advanced dancer or someone wishing to learn some new dance moves.-There are some tracks from different music eras-The challenge based format where completing a series of songs unlocks more challenges. What I don’t like:-The graphics are a little on the dopey side (the dancers you follow look like an animated version of the men’s bathroom symbol). Even though they often have the music video playing in the background, I’d rather have more realistic dancers.-The dancers slide forward on different tracks and you have to move from side to side to catch them. This just seems to add to the glaring lack of decent animation.Overall, this is a fairly simple game graphics wise but those with better than average dance skills (or those wishing to learn) will appreciate what Dance Paradise has to offer.
