I have to say, I am extremely surprised and pleased about this game! It’s been a whole lot of fun to play, and keeps getting better as I go, besides the fact that you’re really getting TWO games here (Escape from Butcher Bay AND Assault on Dark Athena). The first person stealth and shooter aspects are well done, and I personally have found the game play to be fairly addicting. For this price, it is DEFINETLY worth picking this up.
Game was in the condition promised and is fun to play. I love the riddick series and this fits in perfectly.
Great game!! I’m a huge Riddick fan and didn’t do much reading before I bought the game, so I was pleasantly surprised that Butcher Bay is included.
This game is very different from most main stream titles. This is also a case where the game is BETTER than the movie!Escape from butcher bay is a master piece and will keep you busy for a while. The achievements are a nice addition as well. Assault on dark athena was more of the same and didn’t really grab me. It was OK, but I liked the first one better. Since you get both for the price of one, its a good deal and a great single player experience.
Butchers Bay/Dark Athena are two amazing games for one low price. The games are better than the movies and will entertain you for a long time. If you like Deus Ex, Aliens, Half Life, you will love this game. Explore the Riddick Universe, play the game, see the new movie in IMAX this fall.
I remember seeing Pitch Black back in 2000 and I considered it a decent sci-fi horror film. Its sequel: The Chronicles of Riddick was an ‘okay’ film for me at best. Now when it came to this game, I had never previously played or even heard of ‘Escape from Butcher Bay.’ So you maybe asking, if I only found the films ‘okay’ and never played the first Xbox debut; why would I pre-order this sequel? The answer is simple; boredom. Ive been playing Gears of War 2 and Halo 3 for so long I decided it was time for something new and after hearing all the buzz for the first Riddick game I decided to take a chance.I pre-ordered the game at GameStop a few months ago and for some odd unexplainable reason they sold it to me a week early. So I have had the game now for a week. Let me say this, when I saw the package to the game I was very surprised because I was essentially getting two games for the price of one! It turns out Atari decided to package the original ‘Escape from Butcher Bay’ with ‘Assault on Dark Athena.’ Even better is that ‘Escape from Butcher Bay’ is remastered in high definition. These two games are very unique in my opinion. Atari has done something that not many other game companies have done; they have combined elements from different games into one single game. Playing ‘Escape’ and ‘Dark Athena’ I have discovered game mechanics from different games such as ‘Splinter Cell’, ‘Shenmue I & II’, ‘Oblivion’, ‘Halo’, and to an extent ‘Resident Evil’ all packed into these games..
Riddick is the man, and this game is tops as far as FPS go, no one to protect but your own a**. I hate FPS that want you to defend someone else.
The chronicles of riddic assult leaves off right after butcher bay so if you didn’t play butcher bay on the Xbox i mean i ruled at that game but then i traded it in with my Xbox to get the 360 so if you didn’t play it yet i suggest you get the guide for it because it’s hard the first time you play it but then you get use to it after while and assult is easy. so that game won’t give you any trouble anyway the 5 stars is how much they improved the graphics for butcher bay in hd. and assult looks good to but i bought mine for butcher bay. I don’t know about any of the old Xbox owners who loved butcher bay but it’s still assult just wasn’t that good.
A little bit boring in the beginning when you talk to prisoners. It takes too much time. But the game is not bad. Story is not bad and there is some repeating dialog from the previous game: butcher’s bay. Other than that, graphics could be better.
I would recommend this game to any fan of the Riddick franchise. This is a great action stealth shooter. 5*’s
