Emulation screen settings are great, changing sizes and frames. Games run very smooth, zero issues.Final Fantasy Adventure – isn’t actually final fantasy, english localization merely used the “final fantasy” name to hook its fans. It plays like the first Legend of Zelda but with Attribute point system when leveling up.Secret of Mana – the hitbox deduction is pretty bad for melee weapons. Party following, the members get easily stuck in corners, forcing you backtrack to fetch them. Either you or anybody getting hit even enemies, causes a knockdown even becoming “unconscious” until hit again. Then gives recovery invincibility frames for enemies. This whole combat system is poorly done overall.Trial of Mana – skip the first two games and just play this, thousand times better.
Just purchasing a physical copy of Final Fantasy Adventure and Secret of mana (loose) is already as expensive as this game. The fact you get Seiken Densetsu 3 alone worth that cost. I played SD3 a hand full of times on emulator using a fan translated patch. I really love the game and always wondered why we never got an official release here in the states. I bought this not only because of how great a deal it is, but because I want to show Nintendo that there is a market for games they never released, and that they should make the effort to continue to do this. Honestly, I don’t know if I would have even bought the game had emulation not been a thing. This game is an important entry into the gaming industry and I hope it does well.
Some of my favorite games ever, but I knocked off a star for the presentation. I might have expected an art gallery or scans of the instruction manuals or something, but it’s just the games. The only extra is a music player, which I guess is nice as these games have beautiful soundtracks. The main annoyance for me is the frame on the sides of the screen. You can’t choose what’s displayed there and you can’t turn it off and just have a plain black frame if you don’t want the distraction.
Game arrived safely!!Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!Tonia in Georgia
Nice to finally have Trials of Mana available in English. The other games are great too. Worth the price!
Great Retro collection. The real gem is Trails of Mana that is making its first North American debut! This collection has 2 of the best games to grace the snes/super famicom.
Perfect for the price brings back old memories great games
3 Games in one package with quite a bit of replayability. Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu) was a bit on the difficult side given the limits of the original Gameboy, but it was a good start to the series. Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2) has a good story, but can get a bit confusing at times when it comes to where you are supposed to go. Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3) is perhaps my favorite game of all three on the cartridge. 6 Characters in groups of 3 allows for some pretty interesting combinations. One of the best things about Collection of Mana is that it has a built-in music player allowing you to enjoy the music from any of the games. Worthy of attention from anyone who is a fan of the series, and/or for RPG’s in general.
All three games included are absolute classics. I didn’t expect Final Fantasy Adventure to hold up as well as it did, but it’s still a great game. I will say, to anyone planning on playing it, stock up on keys. I had to start over because I got stuck between two doors that were locked. Always brings 3 sets of keys. Secret of Mana was a staple of my childhood and still holds up, and I haven’t tried Trials of Mana yet, but I hear it’s amazing. I love the quick save feature, and some of the other options as well.
Let me tell y’all a story. So this game was originally $35 or whatever and my fiancé and I agreed on a $20 limit for Christmas. It went down to that so I bought it for him. This dude then bought it for himself with the same thinking I did.I made him return his and he got it on Christmas, surprise ruined but he loves the game.
