This book is written for those of us in Sales Management who need clear action targets, courage for accountable action and effective processes. My top three takeaways: 1) Forget hiring the “I got a guy” sales reps. I’m tired of throwing money off the top of my building chasing that “guy”. I’m using Marc’s hiring process which saves me time and uses a human process combined with testing data. KABOOM. 2) Sales Management isn’t rocket science and doesn’t have to be emotionally charged towards motivation. I loved Marc’s sales processes in his first book “Game Plan Selling”, but this book gives me the leadership backbone to spell out accountable process and expect self managed reps to achieve. 3) I can’t digest all the sales management stuff i need to do. This book gave me one or two key action points for me to do each week to keep my team moving forward. I don’t have to invent the details, Marc shares them here even down to a great question “Monday Morning Quarterback Hot Seats” form on page 242. I came away from the book focused and moved to action. Great reference book for leaders.
I bought this game back in 2000/2001 and have ignored every game since. I love playing this game because unlike a lot of other games that are out today, this can be relaxing and won’t send you to the ER for a stroke. It’s fun to see how high you can get as you are rank by game. Once you become a professional at all the games, you are an official member of the emporer’s club. To me, that says a lot as the game is based on vegas odds. I recommend this game
Great book. Marc made this book super easy to read and understand for the non-business/sales people. A must read for small to large business people as well as Business Students.

After reading this book once, I went back and read several sections again as it contained great insights in every chapter. One chapter that stood out for me was Chapter 9, Accountability. it’s a roadmap on how to create a plan to keep people on track that goes way past the basics of a CRM system. The chapter lays out numerous steps any sales manager can use to help lead their team more effectively. I would recommend this book for every sales manager and also for any salesperson who is looking for strategies to get to the next level.

Marc explains in clear concise language how to identify, interview and onboard sales talent. This book is written to give CEO’s a play book on how to develop a sales team. Having been in business for over 30 years I have had successes and failures in identifying and nuturing sales professionals. This book has prompted me to take a hard look at what my partner and I were doing and what we could do to insure greater success for our organization.
I’m only about halfway through, but so far this is BY FAR THE BEST SALES MANAGEMENT book I have in my library of sales books. He lays out a no BS way to recruit that won’t waste money in time and money in overpaying or over estimating talent. More review later once the book is completed.
Marc goes into a lot of detail and provides insight into what your sales organization should look like. I really enjoyed chapter 6 going over the sales process.
