THE definitive sword dueling sim. This is the game that set the bar for how realistic, and even non-realistic, sword fighting games should be. There’s no true way of ranking how “difficult” this game is. Sometimes you can cut down thirty swordsmen in a row and sometimes one can cut you down thirty times in a row. It’s a very deep and complex fighting system of perfecting what stances to use, when to swing, and when to block.Gameplay:On paper the concept seems pretty simple, there’s attacking, blocking and different stances. There are three different stances per weapon, each with different attack animations and different strengths. Do you want to try going in for a quick kill, but may leave you completely open? Go for the high stance. Want to go for a more defensive maneuver to provide a good counter-attack kill? Try a well-timed low stance. Couple the different stances with the different advantages/disadvantages of the different weapons and you have quite a powerful list of combinations before you. Aside from the stances and weapons, you also have little “distractions” you can use for “dirty” fighting, such as throwing knives or even throwing dirt/sand. What also makes the fighting ore complex is that you can also disable your opponents arms or legs. If you disable their arm, then they can only use limited sword techniques and they can no longer throw weapons or dirt at you. If you disable your opponents legs, then they only have limited movement and limited sword techniques,.
This is a classic game that supersedes the genreĆ¢ā¬ā¢s expectations.
Came in great condition and on timeI’m very satisfied with the product this was one of my favorite games when it came out
I got my copy from a third party shop. Two player is fun, and so difficult!
I love this game. The best thing about it is that it gives you more options than most fighting games. You can try different weapons with different fighters and figure out which weapon is best for which fighter (they vary in strength and speed). Also, one shot to the head or torso results in a kill, and hitting the leg results in the fighter having to fight on one leg. It doesn’t have one of those corny life meters. To fight over and over again, you can just set it on continue. I’m not a fan of fighting games in general, but this game is really a lot of fun. This game doesn’t get old as quickly as most fighting games do. I don’t think they make it anymore, so you’d probably have to buy it used, but it’s definitely worth purchasing if you like fighting games at all.
fighting game at the best
Bushido Blade is a great and realistis fighting game. The first i’ve ever played where there is no life bar. There are tons of characters to choose from and many weapens. (Theres even a sluge hammer) The only reason i will give it 4 stars is the fact that i got bored with it after a few months. Besides that, it’s a great game! (It’s squaresoft, what do you expect?) You might find it different and never get bored with it. Sometimes the game can get difficult in slash mode. But the best thing about the game is the multiplayer. You can never get bored with that. So make sure you have a friend or a family member that loves to cut up people with swords.
This game, and its sequel, are probably the most intense fighting games ever released. Not to mention how advance the game is with its destructible environments, persistent character injuries and huge area for free roaming. While Bushido Blade 1 isn’t as easy to control as Bushido Blade 2, it is still a great game and more fun than should be had with a PS1.
I recently bought Bushido blade II, and was disappointed by the game. It just seemed more complicated when it came to the movement and moves. Also the story mode with multiple amounts of Ninjas to fight did not win me over. So after being disappointed with that game I decided to get the first one. This game was WAY MORE BETTER AND DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND. This game is perfect for anyone who loves classic fighting games. Although it is extremely different from most fighting games since its based on a 3 button fighting system and doesnt have those 56 combo abilities, it definitely lives up to it’s name. The stages are breath taking even in their 90’s graphics. The story mode did not include those annoying ninjas which was definitely an upside but the story mode did seem very short. But besides that, no complaining here! the disc arrived on time and was in it’s original casing :)
