I’m baffled with all the negative reviews this game has constantly been receiving! Critics constantly rant and rave about the game not living up the the potential of such games as Halo. How on earth can anyone compare a lst person shooter to a 3rd person shooter? Nowadays, it almost seems as though if a shooter doesn’t play EXACTLY like Halo, then it’s no good. That shouldn’t be the case. Brute Force is twice as long, more challenging, better replay value, and has smoother/crisper visuals and graphics than Halo. Besides, why would anyone want to play a cheap imitation shooter that plays exactly like Halo? Let’s just face the facts people. If you like first person shooters, then play Halo and Half-life, and you if you despise 3rd person shooters then leave Brute Force alone and stop complaining of how it’s either a rip-off of Halo or it’s not as good as Halo, because BF is it’s own game. Try to accept Brute Force for what it is. A darn good 3rd person shooter (possibly one of the best, if NOT the best out now). One of the all time best around!
The shop was punctual with shipping and sold me a game that plays great. The game is fun and unique.
The game is way too easy to finish because if you die, you can just continue with full health from your last spot. Only loose points at the end of the mission. Levels were allright, but not jaw dropping or extraordinary. Only 4 or 5 maps for multiplayer, and except for one, boring. Also you’re stuck with a pick of one or two weapons per character. I took it back for store credit, just wasn’t fun.
This game looks like it just may be one of the very very few x-box games that beat out all the other games! You take control of any of the four specialized commandos. Weather the encounter requires stealth, maneuvering, sniping or just “Brute Force,” your team is always ready and able for the mission. Play by yourself through many different worlds in single campaign, or have three more of your friends come and join in for a four player co-op campaign. Then later you can try to annihilate your friends by battling it all out in a multitude of competitive deathmatch modes.
I decided to buy it after I played this game at my friends once. IF YOU DON’T ALREADY OWN THIS GAME, BUY IT!!!!UPSIDE: it’s cool when you get the multiplayer characters, there’s a big variety; I like the squad deathmatch where you can command a group of people( not only Brute Force, but other squads like rebels too) into battle and blow the….out of other people. Each person has a unique ability, dual wielding, invisibility, etc. the graphics are really good, and the gameplay is pretty darn good too if you ask me. though it’s really fun when you use cheats, not to beat the game but to have some fun whether before or after game completion.DOWNSIDE: It’s really fun untill you get to the lava levels, very boring and very hard to beat, not to mention really long(the first one is 6 chapters!).And honestly the multiplayer maps get real boring, real fast. it’s also a pain having to get DNA canisters to unlock characters, some are really hard 2 find, also if you don’t have all the DNA’s in a squad, you can’t play that squad(e.g. in the Feral squad there’s the Feral Outcast, Feral Shaman, and two other feral dudes and unless you unlock all four of them you can’t play their squad!). it can be a pain to find all the things for objectives A.K.A. the suitcases!!! And certain characters can pick up certain weapons, Hawk, the small girl with invisibility, can only pick up a handgun and a medium sized gun!NOTE:the next paragraph is optional reading.CHEATS: some cheats i can’t get to work t.
I’ve already played this game through once on easy mode, and it was okay. Basically, I didn’t really use all the manuevers at my command. I all did with it was run and shoot. Now, I’m playing through Brutal Mode, and trying to use complete stategy while playing. Hawks invisibility helps locate where the enemy’s are giving early intel. Brutus allows for seeing further in the darkness or mist, allowing Flint to stand next to him and shoot what he sees. Tex is more of a fall back character for me though, he’s tough, but in Brutal mode, he’s sorta the last resort guy. The ability to place your squad where you want them can become really advantageous. Flint snipes from a high position, while Brutus and Tex surround the opening, and then Hawk lures the enemies into the open. It has really cool graphics, and if played strategically, it can be quite a challenge. Some things are hard to find though, but once all the enemy have been destroyed, you can generally go back and look for whatever to achieve your secondary objectives. It can be played as either a shooter game, or a strategy game. Your choice. I love it. Brutal Mode is hard though.
I reviewed this product earlier and gave it four stars for four stars for single-player mode. The detailed graphics and overall game play overcame the game’s few flaws. But at that point I had only played single player mode. Since then, I’ve got the chance to do quite a bit of 4-way cooperative action, and I have to say it’s been some of the most fun I’ve had on my Xbox in a while.Being able to have a friend just plug in a controller and start blasting away is great. No quitting your current mission and restarting from scratch.Sure, having to play on a quarter of a TV screen is kind of a drag, but I didn’t think there was that much of a sacrifice in terms of graphics. Certainly the action was very smooth, with the frame rate ticking over at a rapid clip even during the most action-packed sequences.Although there is no way to switch characters with someone during play, if two or more people die, you can choose who you want to be respawned as.It is cool, too, that you don’t have to set up a special cooperative mission profile that is separate from what you’ve done in single player mode. I had finished the first few missions solo, and my friends and I were able to continue playing in that profile. When I return to solo play, I will pick up where the four of us left off. No need to repeat everything we did.I have many other shooters — Halo, Ghost Recon, Medal of Honor, Return to Castle Wolfenstein — and this is only one that gives you 4-way cooperative action. For those of us w.
This was one game I was waiting for but then i read all the bad to ok reviews and though, hmm, maybe i should pass this one by. But I bought it anyway.Yes you can go through missions without switching characters, issuing orders or looking for all the secrets. This is similar to many games, you can get all that you can out of the game or just play it through as fast as possible. Personally for my 50 bucks, i’m playing the heck out of teh game. Each character is unique, can handle only certain guns (like Hawk can only use small guns where as Tex laughs if you try and make him pick up a small weapon). There is a great deal of strategy involved with setting up your squad to take out an enemy threat. Tex will just go in guns-a-blazing if you don’t keep him controlled (i typically have him in cover me mode until i want to unleash him). Each character has their own personality. Flint and Hawk are more cautious, Brutis and Tex are aggressive. I frequently use Hawk to survey the battlefield, then setup a battle plan. I’ll setup Flint to provide sniper cover, tell hawk to use her stealth power to assassinate enemies unleash tex and play brutis for his ability to do heat vision. There is quite a bit of strategy involved in the game if you want to use it. Or you can go balls to the wind and run into the firefight.Graphically the game is OK. The mouth to voice sync is bad and you can see jaggies on diagonals. But overall the graphics are acceptable, not leading edge but they work. You can in.
These are the kind of games that put PS2 to shame. Brute Force will be the biggest video game ever! The graphics are perfect and amazing. The gameplay backs it up pretty good. I’m fine with all the delays but, they better just make it that much better. My friends and I have been waiting for the release for a long time now. Trust me this game will stun and you won’t be disapointed.
This game does lack the depth of a strategy game. There ARE only 6 worlds, and some Snipe shots shouldn’t kill. The sniping strategy is also rendered ineffective at times because of the length of viewable playing area. That said, this is a fun game. I was expecting something more along the lines of Hunter: The Reckoning. What I got was a first person shooter from a 3rd person perspective. That coupled with the ability to change your tactics with the commando you’re currently using, makes for a pretty fun, if shallow game.It should not be missed however, that there will be or is downloadable content through Microsoft. Thereby lenghtening the game and adding replay value. 4 stars for fun but lack of depth.BOOYah!
