The title is appropriate for the game, I’ll say that. In both the instant action missions, the Tour of Duty mini-campaigns, and the main story itself, you’ll find out even on the easier difficulties just how much “earned in blood” the victories you achieve really are.The story is played and seen in the present by Corporal, eventually Sergeant, Joe Hartsock, who fifteen days after D-Day is being interviewed by Colonel SLA Marshall on his experiences during the recent fighting. Hartsock tells the story of the game in retrospect to Colonel Marshall, who appears in cinematics at a few points in the game. Formerly a member of Sergeant Matt Baker’s squad, Hartsock becomes a squad leader himself for the first time in the course of the game. The lengthy, highly-detailed and incredibly realistic missions see Hartsock fighting with his unit, the 101st Airborne Division, mixed up with the 82nd Airborne in the chaos of the invasion. He participates in the Battle of Carentan, is present for the link-up of the 101st and the 82nd at Baupte, and the end of the game has Hartsock fighting at Saint-Sauveur-le-Vicomte.There are four difficulties in the game, each considerably harder than the previous one. After each mission is completed, a medal is awarded based mostly on what difficulty you played it on. The easiest earns you a service medal of some kind each time. The “normal” difficulty earns a Bronze Star for each mission, a Silver Star each time for the next difficulty, and “Authentic”, the.
Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood is easily one of the best Xbox shooters around. With all the buzz about next-generation consoles, this is one of the games that has kind of been forgotten. But if you decide to pass this one up, you’ll be missing out on one heck of a game.Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood puts you in the boots of Joe “Red” Hartsock. In order to truly appreciate the deep storyline, I recommend playing BIA Road to Hill 30 first, as it will make the story a little bit easier to understand. The storyline follows the real-life stories of Hartsock’s mates of the US Airborne in the days after the D-Day Invasion. The storyline sort of overlaps that of Matt Baker’s Road to Hill 30 experiences, but you will be seeing things from Hartsock’s perspective and his experiences from the same time frame. The story is told from a flashback perspective as Hartsock re-tells his experiences to a superior officer. The cut-scenes that move the story along are amazing and truly are impactful on your mood as you play the game.Gameplay: The gameplay is a revolutionary take on World War II paratrooper combat. The squads you command consist of a fire team and an assault team. You will also get to command tanks in a few missions. The squad command system is easy to use and is a very effective way to tactically move your fire and assault teams around the battlefield. The basic concept behind BIA is to use fire and maneuver tactics. Using your fire team, you can command them to put suppress.
These people that are telling you that this game is not fun are taking away from your gaming experience. I am a 15 year old guy from ohio that can beat this game on authentic. This is fairly simple for me since I have had it since christmas of 05 and have beat it 6 times now. These funsuckers make themselves look like idiots by telling you that they cant enjoy a game without in your face, dont have to work for it action. Yes, you must use a flanking system in this game. This is not hard. Lets grow a brain…buy this game.I should get some prenup for this…
I can easily beat the game on authentic, so it’s not that difficult; it gets easier when you learn things from playing paintball and airsoft. There is the blurring of the rear sight which is authentic, limbs get blown off, but the gun never jams or overheats (you never see a weapon jam in a videogame though). Yes, there is a reaction when people get shot, and there is even the “gurgle of death” from the wind escaping the guy’s lungs. This is no MoH or CoD game here; this is the GOOD stuff :)
new like it said great game too
I wasn’t able to play this version as it was for the Xbox and my Xbox 360 wouldn’t accept it. Having said that, I was really looking forward to it as I had played previous episodes on PC and they were really good.
I thought it was for x box 360 but found out that it was for original x box so hubby will be buying a regular x box to play it
Very good game
was a game i loved when it came out and i still enjoy it very much. disk and case in excellent condition, and works with no errors.thank you
I like games like this, not too hard, but not too easy. The only problem is this particular disc will skip sometimes when I fire my weapon, which makes it difficult to determine where I’m shooting. It’s not unusable, but enough for anyone to notice. Obvisouly, it depends on the condition you purchase it in, but this is on mine in particular, which was averstised in “very good” condition, and I would amend that to “fair” condition.
