I don’t play action RPGs regularly but wanted to try something different. I picked this up based on reading comments on ign and GameSpot from actual people and not professional reviewers.I had a ton of fun with this game.Bad first. The story is mediocre, the acting is mediocre, and the length of the game is mediocre. Nothing special. The fighting, leveling up, and difficulty are where this game shines. Its just simply fun to fight. I played on hard and it was hard. This is not a button smasher. Each enemy takes a strategy and different weapons and spells open up different strategies. This is where the fun was for me.I haven’t felt a sense of accomplishment after beating a game for a while now. After beating the excruciatingly difficult final boss, I felt so gratified I conquered.Pick this up for the simple fun of it. Avoid if you are looking for the next best story/action game.
My PS4 had been gathering dust as I had already played the hell out of NFS:Rivals and COD: Ghosts, waiting for the games that I truly enjoy the most, which are RPGs until I found Bound By Flame. While this game might not be the best in the genre for the ps3, it definitely made me play and enjoy my ps4, worth the money for a relatively new developer with excellent potential ideas that could be exploited with a larger budget and worthwhile until big games like Middle Earth or Dragon Age Inquisition release. Solid gameplay and definitely entertaining combat system and story.Whoever mentioned voice acting is bad, I can just say it might not be the greatest but it definitely does the job and won’t distract you from enjoying the experience. For anybody still hesitating, I can only say that for the time being this is the best RPG for ps4 out there.
Ive only played this game a few times. So far not too bad. Gotta figure out alot more about how to play but the price was good n it came super fast
Give this game a chance! Bound by flame is not a groundbreaking game but it’s certanly not bad at all, it’s very enjoyable.I’ve been playing videogames for 18 years and this game is worth your time. Combat is really good, you have to perfectly time your attacks or you will get destroyed quickly, it’s a challenging game.Voice acting is not the best but it’s certanly not the worst , it is decent. The storyline is quite interesting and had me hooked. The graphics are also good, not the best but they look pretty good. The choices you make impact the game and can even mean the death or life of your companions.Give this game a chance, it’s worth it
Does anyone remember the days when a game just needed to be good to get any form of praise? Remember the days where you did not need to "innovate" the genre to be considered a success? Perhaps I am a bit old school, but I have seen far too many reviews where the primary complaints are "The voice acting isn’t that good," and "It doesn’t do anything better, than other games". Then thee reviews are as low as possible without being totally in the gutter. Which is funny when you consider how so many trashy games get 8’s and 9’s from the same companies.Bound by flame is merely good. I won’t go anywhere and try to call it a great game, but it gets far more right than it does wrong. You can clearly see influence of the Witcher series, dragon age, and dark souls. These are all good acts to be influenced by and so far I have not seen anything it really botches. There are some weak points. The voice acting is certainly more like early game VA work. But they get the job done. Graphically I found it smooth and detailed, though the in conversation animations were a bit goofy at times.Character customization is present, but fairly weak. You won’t be seeing much variety of looks, but you do have options. All in all anyone who is a fan of action RPG’s should give it a look.My honest rating would be a 3.5 or so, but I will round it up to four.
I want buy this game used but I don’t want miss out On any codes that may come with a brand new one. Can any one tell me if anything comes with it?
Awesome game play
Bound by Flame has been on my radar for the last year. I have been eagerly waiting while paying close attention for new information in every press release. Now, the time has finally arrived and Bound by Flame is out and I couldn’t have been more excited to get the chance to review it.Fantasy role-playing games are one of the most common genres on the market today, probably only behind the likes of first-person shooters. So, with new fantasy RPGs coming out all the time, you could easily feel like you are drowning while trying to play them all. That has been the case for me over the past few years. Games like Skyrim, Dragon Age II, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Dark Souls II, and The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings are all great games in their own right, but they didn’t grab me the way I hoped that they would. The only one on that list that did was Kingdoms of Amalur and it only did because it had the most fun combat system I have ever played in an RPG. Because of the bad taste left in my mouth by these HUGE blockbuster games, I was skeptical about the possibility of Bound by Flame changing my mind. Sure, the screenshots and trailers looked pretty cool, but how many times have we been burned by previews like that? The only glimmer of hope I have been holding on to was that Bound by Flame is developed by Spiders, a small French video game development studio known for games like Of Orcs and Men and Mars: War Logs. Maybe a small team could develop the perfect fantasy RP.
Any game under 20 is a really good deal.
A delightful rpg with all the right elements needed in a game of this sort! With an added splash of comedy as a bonus:) If you are an rpg fanatic this is must buy. (Do not read into much on the negative reviews) A true Hidden Gem#!
