I love the Borderlands series and I love this game too, so my review is biased but if you like the series like I do, you will want to get this game. It really fills in some details of Handsome Jacks story and how he became so violent and angry towards the Vault Hunters. The new characters are REALLY fun to play with and they all have new abilities that havent been in a Borderlands game before. The story, to me, seemed kind of short… But after playing through it a few more times I think its just about as long as Borderlands 2 but there are just few zones to go through. You seem to spend longer in fewer zones than Borderlands 2 you moved around through zones much quicker I feel.I do have a few negative comments about this game though. First, is that the Australian accent which I dont find annoying, becomes so after playing through the game a couple times. Every, and I mean EVERY npc, mission contact, and boss all have the accent and speak with the terms and slang words used in Australia. While the first couple times its cool, and even at times funny… It gets old quick, and becomes a serious drawback for me to listen to the endless dialog (at times) from contacts. This game more than the previous Borderlands seems to have sequences where the dialong from the contact just NEVER ENDS.Second, The side missions… There seems to be about the same number of side missions as there was in BDL2 but they are ridiculously easy and short. There is really only one side missi.
It’s extrememly hard to match Borderlands 2! After countless hours, several play-throughs, and playing with all characters, Borderlands 2 was a 5-star game. The Pre-Sequel, so far, just falls a bit short. I have played through a couple of times with Wilhelm and Nisha and have started with Handsome Jack (add-on as part of season pass purchased). The initial play through doesn’t quite match the story, wittiness, and hilarity of 2 with characters like Tiny Tina, Scooter, Moxxi, and Sir Hammerlock. The characters for play are also just not quite as fun particularly in regards to their actions. Nisha is a Gunzerker Lite while none of the characters matches Zero (my personal favorite). Don’t get me wrong this is a great game, if it existed in a gaming world where Borderlands 2 hadn’t been made. As is, it just leaves you wanting more of the likes of 2.
Honestly didn’t realize I’d bought a new copy so better than expect! Cant wait for my kiddo to open it on christmas.
Christmas gift for my husband. It was a surprise and sure winner as I knew he loved the first few Borderlands games. As the wife, Borderlands is one of the few that’s not annoying to watch or have in the background while doing something else in the living room.
Lovely game
great condition
The borderland games have been great. We haven’t fully played this one but for a minute but it works great and has amazing graphics. They do have a guide out for those who like them.
excellent continuation of the borderlands series. you can think of this (and borderlands 2) as really just DLC add-ons to the original borderlands. not a whole lot has changed, and yet there are enough new features to the game to keep it interesting. the new gravity (less of) feature has made for an all new combat experience.
Love this game!
I love this Game, and the other Borderlands games for that matter. This is a great back story on Jack and how he became the douche we all love to hate. He starts as a hero but as the story unfolds, you see the rise of (more) ego, arrogance, and his craze for power as the story progresses. You also get to know some other (bad) guys from Borderland’s 2 of Jack’s associates as you get to play them (Nisha and Wilheilm). And, who doesn’t love destroying your enemies with a good butt slam in low gravity!? With other familiar faces from the games, along with the other character expansions (playing as the Baroness and Jack’s Double) you will surely enjoy this addition.
