If you like Mario Kart Wii, this is a decent game that plays in a similar way. The Wii controls are much better, I definitely miss the steering wheel with this game. This game is much more "serious" than Mario Kart.
I bought this game for my husband for his birthday. I expected it to come late, and warned him that part of his gift would be late. I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up ON his birthday! The game was in excellent condition, and my husband is having great fun with it.
This game is hands down one of the best in the racing library of the Playstation 3. Love it, love it, love it. No complaints.
If I had to rate the single player alone, I’d give Blur an 8/10… but the multiplayer is unbelievably fun and addicting. Don’t listen to the 7/10 score on IGN, because the multiplayer is awesome… The guy who reviewed it obviously didn’t play it online enough to get past the noob bashing (which will happen). That being said, I had a lot more fun getting accustomed to the intense multiplayer battles in Blur than I did playing Modern Warfare 2.Pros -Multiplayer is a blastRealistic racing physics (not Gran Turismo real, probably similar to Grid/Dirt)Satisfying and balanced weaponsSeriously the multiplayer is a blastCons -Single player is a bit short (although it ties into the multiplayer somewhat in that the “Boss” cars are usable in multiplayer once you defeat them)
I really enjoy racing games and this one is my favorite. Blur has a four player split screen mode so up to four people can play at once. Theres lots of cars to unlock such as fords, chevys and audi’s. The cars are ranked from A to D. A cars are advanced cars and D cars are weaker and slower. Online play has lots of weapon mod features and enables voice chat. Its similar to mario cart because of power ups but its so realistic also races can be played on hardcore mode which is racing without power ups. Great game to play with a group of friends. I recommend.
Love the game. A little disturbed that it came in a regular cd case. I probably misread it. O well
I finally purchased this game. ( I wait for prices to drop) I have both PS3/360 slims and Forza 2/3 and Wipeout are my favorite racers. Blur is a really good game. I still enjoy Mario Kart so Blur being about the same thing is a lot of fun to play. I still laugh at the commercial of Blur dissing Mario Kart. Anyway, the game is fun to play, I like the graphics, cars, and tracks. It’s fun to play a more simple game that I can jump into. I still spend way too much time on Forza. Blur is still pretty challenging though. I play Blur on the hardest setting and sometimes I want to play on medium. Then it just becomes too easy. I haven’t played online since PS Network has been jacked.Anyway the overall game is fine. If you liked Mario Kart you should enjoy it. Enjoy.
Most people compare this game to Mario Kart, and it is similar! Until now Mario Kart was my favorite driving game. I’m not a huge fan of driving games such as gran turismo and need for speed. They seem very repetitive to me. Drive around in circles bla bla bla.I like games that have different elements to it and THIS IS IT! I actually find myself driving like a maniac when I am done playing because I am all amped up.Power ups, very challenging tasks, vibrant colors, big track selections that look amazing, a huge selection of cars (new and old), very fast paced…what more could you ask for!Not to mention the soundtrack rocks! Seems to lean more towards the techno side, but its prefectly fitting for this game and even after playing for hours on end, I dotn find myself getting tired of hearing some of the same tracks I’ve heard play over again.There’s a lot included in this game that will have you playing for quite some time. Plus its more than just racing. There are many objectives other than just racing cars. There are destruction tracks where you have to destroy other cars and checkpoint tracks where you have to race against the clock. Haven’t tried the online play yet, but I’m planning to soon.Some people complain that the graphics aren’t that great. I think they look just fine. Guess people are a little too picky these days. Maybe they forget what Atari was like…??One thing I did notice and should mention is that my driving speed was seemingly a little slow. I couldn’t k.

The effects are great and the action is never ending. This is a great combination of Mario Kart and real racing. You can shoot other players, leave bombs where they can run into them, zap out some lighting, and send seeking missiles at them. In single player mode you have a rear view mirror so you can see what is coming so you can play a bit more defensively, but in multi player they take it away to save on screen space. Either way the game is fun. Easy to play from kid to adult. There is soooo much action that you get addicted to playing ‘just one more game’. There is a battle mode where you can tear each other apart. The car selection is great. You can get big SUV’s to tiny sporty cars. There are fast races to slow races all with an assortment of jumps, hair pin turns, and ledges to push cars off of. If you fly off the cliff or get spun around the game puts you right back up in the correct direction so the fun doesn’t need to stop. When playing 4 player off line option the game is set up well. You can race each other along with comp players in free play style. Career mode is single player as per usual with most games. My girls have had sleep overs many times and this is the game they pick time and time again. There is so much action even if you are just watching. The graphics are very fun!!
