A side-scrolling 3rd person shooter that has elements similar to old NES games, something like a cross between Contra and Metroid, except the graphics are much more polished. This game is especially appealing to an older gamer; the game is not overly gross for younger gamers, but it isn’t easy and the control scheme and map functions may be frustrating for a pre-teen player. This game is a delight for gamers who grew up with NES. The maps are complex and the bosses are not easy. The "360-degree" aiming system is very unique; the main stick is used for controlling the character and the C-stick is used for aiming. This bargain game is worth the price; however the retrolio price of $15 is actually higher than what you’ll find at your local mega-department-store-supercenter (it’s only $10 there).
ok game
I use to have this game on the playstation 2 and I thought it was a cool game very old school. So when I saw that it was for the gamecube as well I had to pick it up. I would say this is a very good side scroll game. All though the graphics could of been a little better and not too mention it is very repetitive as far as the background. Everything looks the same not much of a difference in scenery between levels. But it is still a very good game. The controls are basic and very easy to learn. For the old school gamers this is kind of in the vain of contra and may bring you down memory lane. For the younger gamers this may not be as interesting because they are use to the three d games. But even though I feel the younger gamers will find this game fun cause there is plenty of action and lots of creatures to shoot at. Also there are plenty of variety of weapons to use to make the game more fun. But worth picking up if you want a fun game that is inexpensive.
