This is, probably, the last unique computer product that we will see. The one with the powerful CELL, RISC processor. All consoles should use the x86 architecture from now on, so, just for that, this is a collector piece. But not only for this reason; this is the console where the Uncharted franchise was born and lived, and the one with so great exclusives and classics PSN games.
I had a PlayStation 2 for years, and I figured it was about time to get PlayStation 3, considering all the games I wanted to play. And I love it! Set up was fast and I love all the features it has. Very satisfied with my purchase!
I am so so happy with this purchase. My son and I spend lots of quality time together playing video games. I am a mom so he loves to see me falter with the game system, I’m pretty hilarious with my ineptitude so it always is fun. I really enjoy this time we spend together playing video games(badly on my part). It is not isolating at all. We all get involved-we are a family of five. I love that it plays dvds. I use it almost daily!
Purchased this from retrolio Warehouse as “used: like new” item and I’m very pleased with it. I already have a Ps4 pro but I can’t play college football or the Mass Effect Trilogy on it. Glad I was able to get one in such good condition at a reasonable price. Console, controller and cable were all in excellent condition. Still lots of great games available, many at discount prices, for this model.
Delivery was really fast and shipped well protected so it arrived without damage. I have owned four PS3’s (all died from hard use) so was pleasently NOT surprised this one was like the others. True the Blu-Ray drive was on top, which was different. I own a PS4 so was using its HDMI cable initially, but that caused video and audio issues. After digging around awhile I found the HDMI cable I had used with my last PS3 and connected it up. This seems to have solved the video/audio issues. Plays PS and PS2 games that are available for download via the PSN store.UPDATE: PSN Plus support for the PS3 ends this month (March 2018). No more free games etc. Sony will stop making the PS3 next year (2019) so if you want a new one, better get it now.
I was expecting a kinda used system with some marks for the price but what i got was a system that seems the only thing was missing was the box it came in. The system is great no problems even though i had it for a few days. If anything changes which i doubt ill write back. But it came with all the cords, the power cord, the hdmi cord, and the cord to connect from the game to the tv. So im very happy, hv played a few games and the graphics are great. Screw the ps4, who needs it. The ultra slim ps3 is wonderful. The only thing i didnt get that friends of mine got were a few games with it. But i guess some do and some dont. Either way im happy with it.
Use it to make TV smart and watch Blu Ray discs. I have even played a few games with it, and found they’re not making too many games for this system anymore. Would recommend buying upgraded model over this one.
Shipping was good, system works great everything was on point but I did have to buy separate hdmi cables because the ones the system came with are the AV cables and my monitor requires hdmi. Also I did want to add the reasoning for the 4 star review is because the charging USB cord stop working on my controller causing me to purchase a different set of USB charging cables which are great and can now charge the controller with no issues over all I am very pleased with my purchase and definitely recommend it if you miss the old ps3 classics.
This is our 3rd PS3. With all the Playstation internet issues, we fill our other units have been possibly troubled and damaged with hacking. This one is a back up to our 2nd one that is having issues with leaving the Playstation Store and causing the PS3 to have to restart or be restarted with a blank screen.I give this one 5 stars because never during our ownership of the PS1, 2, 3 or 4 did we every experience and issues with playing games on these units.
We decided to purchase a PS3 system recently so that I could play DA Origins & DA 2 after enjoying DA Inquisition on PS4. We put off the purchase for a while because it seemed like an unnecessary splurge since we already have PS4, but I was surprised by the number of games besides DA that can only be played on this console. I’m pleased with the product (brand new, never opened) and the price of $269.99. Glad to finally have a PS3!
