excellent
Like the title says, this is not a flight sim and is only sort of historically accurate. Fighters have health bars and near the end of the game you get fire and forget missiles. The missions, though often repetitive have unique elements and blowing up stukas with guided rockets that pretty much never miss is very fun. They have managed to dig up a lot of crazy German idea’s and added some of their own. You customize your plane in the hanger. The story is campy and annoying. The supporting characters puke out a lot of stupid one liners and the ending is apparently supposed to be incredibly dramatic but it all is like a B movie. This arcade like game is great for someone who’s not used to fighter games.
It looks prettier than the PC-based game and is easierly controlled. The price is also reasonable. It is well packaged and arrived on time.
Good graphics, good story line, missions are action-packed and occur all over the world, fun on two-player, great selection of WWII planes, downfall for youngsters is cursing.
I got this for an ole buddy so we could duel in the skys…one of the only ones out there where you can multi-play in your own den and no internet hookup…great game…got both ’em…it’s like a football game whereas it’s you against your foe….highly recommend
What got me with this one is that while the actual flying and combat controls are very good, and the capabilities of the planes realistic, the story of some airborne A-Team made the game childish. I mean, a pilot from Pensacola becomes the ringleader of a top secret group of pilots who do the impossible? No, thats too much for me to swallow. Why not highlight elite units instead of this drivel? Like I said the gameplay was great, but the other stuff was a distraction. Still enjoyable though.
I brought this for my 12 year old son he truly loves it. The graphics are good and the flying is more realistic then some of the other flying games he has had. He really enjoys this and its family friendly.
I’m not going to say the game is bad; it is good. A lot of work went into this game. I like the controls, graphics, etc. However, I just find myself going to one mission to the next (not without dieing many times, of course) with no feeling of accomplishment. Worth getting for a cheap price.
The boys got a new PS3 this holiday season and this is the game that gets the most use (at least so far). The selection of airplanes and locations (and mix of action and targets) is great fun. My son, the WWII nut, loves checking out all the different airplanes and quickly you’re flying them.Yes, it isn’t very “historically accurate”, but the real problem with the game, in my mind, is that I find flying the planes difficult, at least with the PS3 controller. But the boys really love it. The music isn’t too cloying and the scenery is glorious. Heck, you could spend all day just doing the “training mission”. I say: check it out. If you like air combat games, this one should be on your shelf.
I was looking for a flight/flying “first person shooter” game. I have Warhawk and really like it, but sometimes it is tough finding good on-line matches. Since Warhawk doesn’t have a single player mode it’s a bit disappointing that you have to rely on the on-line availability to play. Blazing Angels 2 satisfies my flying game itch. You can’t get out of the plane and fight on the ground like in Warhawk, but that’s ok for me. If you’re looking for a flying “fps” this is a good one.
