My all time favorite game on the NES. What great memories this game brought back!

I’m sitting here trying to think what makes Blaster Master so awesome. I’m trying to compare it to other popular franchises so you awesome readers can get a good idea what to expect! But… I’m comparing Blaster Master too many games so it all ends up being a pleasant confusing mess in my brain! Not that Blaster Master is necessarily ripping off the other games, but rather, it does so many things at once it’s hard to pinpoint the main thing that makes the gameplay so addicting.Let’s just say the graphics are comparable to early Mega Man and there’s a strong element of exploration similar to a Metroid or Metroidvania type of game. And yes, there’s a LOT of shooting action to satisfy your inner kill-all appetite! You can admit it- you have the same appetite as me. Shoot shoot shoot! We all do!Basically the gameplay works like this- 80% of the time you’re riding around in a tank destroying radioactive mutants. At least that’s what the description calls them. To me they look more robotic but whatever. It’s all good! What makes Blaster Master so addicting and awesome is that the tank is VERY smooth and easy to control, and it’s relatively fast for an NES game. I wasn’t expecting such smooth gameplay at all! I expected clunky monkey gameplay! Jumping from one platform to another is actually fun! Nothing at all like ugh… *throws up a little* the first Terminator game. Let’s not talk about that stinky game!So what’s going on the other 20% of the time? Your characte.
though it’s pretty tough at times. will frustrate you a lot during the course of the game. none the less, it’s a good solid game.
A classic among classics. Challenging, varied and oozing with 80’s cheese. Most days you just can’t go wrong with Blaster Master.
This is one of the all-time classic NES Games. Everything in this game is great except for one thing, which I’ll mention in a moment. Anyway, for 1998 on the NES, the graphics are excellent, with a lot of detail and good animations on the sprites. The music is SunSoft, so you know it’s going to be good. And it is, it’s a very diverse soundtrack, and you dont mind hearing it over and over again. The controls are spot-on, very tight and responsive, and overall very good. The gameplay is fun and addicting, on the hunt for the end-level boss and all the power ups makes for great fun. However, there is one crippling flaw- there is no save or password system. And this is a very, very long game. However, if you’re willing to look past this, which you should be, you will have a great time playing this.
Today at 2:15:35 AM I finally beat this game. It is awesome. I’ve been playing since 1988 and even though it took me till now to finally achieve victory I still love it. The music, the gameplay, the bosses and the memories of always having fun with it as a kid. This is definitely something to check out.
Great game
