Alot
Good game fight against alien. Has versus mode.
I was excited about this game after playing the demo, but the mixed reviews made me hold off. However, when retrolio had a sale on this game, I went ahead and purchased.I’ve played about 2 hours into the campaign and I’m enjoying the ride. The controls work well and there has been variety in game play (on foot, driving, turrets) so far. The story and voice acting are also good. This is not Halo 3, Gears of War or Call of Duty 4… but it’s a fun adventure and I recommend it, especially if you can find it at a budget price.
The game played well for my son so that made me happy.
This game is undeniably one for Jessie Ventura. Making your way through combat torn land and wind up fighting government experiments gone wild. You have to keep on your toes or lose them in this game. All I can say is if you like first person shooters, you’re gonna love this.
Awesome and very fun .
I picked this up along with Army of Two at the same time for a combined price which was to hard to pass up (both new). I wasn’t expecting much because the reviews were averaging around 7 of 10. I can break it down like this..Graphic/Visuals – Better than thought. Uses the Unreal Engine and came away surprised. Granted not COD4 or GOW2 but still good lookingStoryline – Again not bad and pretty decent.Maps – Mixed bag but there are some fun ones like the trailer park, neighborhood and Drive-In and the last one is a blast.Gameplay – I actually liked it though still not up with COD4. A couple of areas could be tweaked but you get all sorts of weapons and aliens to kill so.Biggest issue – buggy a bit. There are some flaws like glitching. At the current price () hard to pass up. Another plus it does offer coop.
I found this game for my Xbox 360 used for $20 so I thought I’d give it a try.The first two maps are boring and uninviting. I almost put the game away after this but thought I’d hang in there until the real action starts.GRAPHICS: A-The maps are well-crafted and detailed; it’s one of the things I like most about the game. Glitches aside, the aesthetics of the maps and alien-like creatures are excellent. There are some physics but it’s not Call of Duty 4 (which has a ballistics engine, too).SOUND: C-One of the things I like least about this game is the sound effects; they all sound the same, and are all-around unimpressive. Dialog between the characters is comical, nothing bad or great. I happen to like the sarcasm between some of the army personnel. Otherwise, the sound is a C-GAMEPLAY: BSurprisingly good controls (esp. when driving), otherwise, very similar to other games. X for Reload, B for Jump, etc. Sensitivity can be adjusted. AI is “ok” but nothing spectacular.PLOT: BI thought the plot was pretty interesting. Not Hollywood-ish at all, but also not too indie either. Good blend of realism and pop culture.OVERALL QUALITY: B- (maybe C+)There are some glitches in the sound and graphics, but otherwise nothing too horrifying. You’ll see a lot of pop-up and ‘floating weapons’, and incomplete sections of a map. For instance, look down an elevator well and you’ll see nothing but solid color or basic drawings; you can tell that they glossed-over a lot of the fine.
Very good!
I picked this game up at a “going out of business sale” (all too common these days). I bought it based on the subject matter (aliens and Area 51) and less on actual facts or reviews. First off, this is actually a really fun game. Short, about 4-6 hours. I think that is the first thing that truly surprised me. Is it original (from a FPS point of view), no. The shooting is basic, the targeting isn’t always “spot on” (i.e. sometimes you don’t need to hit your target to get them to fall), the “squad commands” are generic, and the driving takes some getting used to…but it is STILL FUN! For what it is, it delivers! The dialogue will make you laugh, which is perfect since this game doesn’t take itself too seriously. I think any gamer who goes into this game with a similar attitude won’t be disappointed. My only two major gripes are more of pet-peeves than actual complaints. So many developers take a ton of time trying to get details correct (guns, uniforms, vehicles, etc.) which is to be commended. However, inevitably in ANY and ALL games these days there is a bathroom you can walk into. Sorry to tell you guys, bathrooms in the Middle East (specifically Iraq) are significantly different from American/European bathrooms (if you’ve been there, you know what I mean). If you are going to take the “cheese route” and put these particular details in a game, make sure you have it right. Also, what ever happened to big, dramatic endings in video games? Playing the older game.
