Awesome game glad I added it to my collection
In the video game world, Arc System Works is a company known for two things: incredibly lush and vibrant 2D fighting games, and deep, complex gameplay. Battle Fantasia is a bit of a departure from both – using 3D characters on a 2D battle area that emulates the fast and flashy presentation of its forerunner the Guilty Gear series while using decidedly slower, more methodical fight mechanics. It is clearly its own animal, and was designed to be a fighting game for those who aren’t normally arcade dwellers, but it’s bright graphics, gorgeous effects, and original characters make it an endearing, if somewhat rudimentary, fighter. Featuring twelve combatants who look like they would be more at home in a fantasy RPG, Battle Fantasia is different than your average gritty brawler, with backgrounds ranging from small villages to forest treetops, along with a quizzically relaxing music score. Players who prefer less spastic fighting games will find themselves at home in this colorful world, but frantic fighting aficionados can still discover enough depth and button-mashing combos to keep them satisfied. Though the game brings little new development to the genre, its unique presentation make a refreshing departure from most Beat-Em-Ups.
I like this game way better than the new Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat games. The characters are better. The moves are more creative. 1000% more fun than those games!
The item arrived as scheduled and in good shape. I like fighting games and this one is actually pretty fun. I’m not a hardcore pro gamer, so I’m not very interested in high level competition. I also like the artworks with their sketchy touch.
Arc Systems is a game developer that has grown in popularity thanks mostly because of their ingenious creation known as “Guilty Gear”. When Guilty Gear first debuted, gamers were awestruck by the strange and unusual character designs, a trait Arc Systems is now famous for. This trait carried over to their latest game BlazBlue, but another game was released by the popular developer that many overlooked, that game is “Battle Fantasia”. Upon first glance of the cover art, I assumed the game was an RPG, however, upon seeing the Arc Systems logo upon the box at my local store, I knew it was actually a fighter. Going with my instinct to trust Arc Systems, I purchased the game without hesitation. Am I disappointed? Not at all.Battle Fantasia, in the same respect as BlazBlue, features only a handful of characters. These characters are very unique though, and each one fights completely differently than each other, making the fights intense and fun. In true Arc System fashion, the pace is fast, the mechanics are solid, and the gameplay addictive, something gamers have come to expect from the developer. The game features polished 3D sprites placed within 2D realms with 3D background animations, a graphical process many developers have dubbed “2.5D”. The look is unique, and fits the sprites quite well. Each character has a handful of special moves, including an ultimate attack and “heat attacks”. Heat attacks are attacks that are performed whenever a character enters “heat mode.
A nice fight game ,Old school
the goodThe gameplayThe game is more like street fighter third strike with a parry system and a cheap last boss like gill. The is a 3d side scroll fighter. Great humor in lines of darkstalkers. Target combos like dudleys are common with most characters.Great art design and all unique characters to play as.Good jpn voice actors that I never heard before.Deep mechanics in combat.Plenty of modes and good records. The badAn annoying, cheap last boss. Some broken infinite combos and unblockable set ups.ConclusionIts very good game with plenty of creativity and replay value. Too bad no sequel was made. It deserves one.
I absolutely loved this game. It’s a simplistic return to old school fighters. Considering this came from the creators of the guilty gear franchise, I was expecting it to be a fast paced, thumb blistering affair that requires cat like reflexes to get through the game. I was suprised to learn that it actually had more in common with street fighter more than guilty gear.I’m not a huge fan of playing fighting games on the Xbox 360, as the joystick to me feels a little too loose and the D-pad is a nightmare to use due to its placement on the controller, but the characters control really well and are very responsive with the Joystick. The game has a lot of really quirky and weird characters that are set in a fantasy type scenario. Truly, many of these characters are for most intents and puposes old-school-type RPG characters. The game balances itself pretty well and the characters are well balanced and easy to learn. However, it only loses one star in my opinion becuase of the tried and true (and somewhat annoying) formula of putting super cheap last boss characters into the game. Granted, with enough practice you can beat him, but in order to do so, you have to be cheap yourself. The game has really good music, and also seems like something that stepped out of an RPG.All in all it’s a great game and I thought it was well worth the buy.
