After 30+ years, you can never tell what you are going to get. Even if you scrub down the outside, the internal components have had a few decades of wear and tear.. Fire buttons aren’t as responsive, movement is a little sluggish, etc.After ordering a few of these from retrolio and trying to find a way to also use them for PC gaming (aka 2600DaptorII), I read on an Atari forum about Best Electronics. They make replacement components which allow you to upgrade the worn out 1970/80s era technology with more durable modern components.So if you still have some of these joysticks floating about but they don’t work as well as they used to, you can upgrade them to better than new.Have fun with your friends! Play head to head – you on the upgraded model while they fumble along with the 1979 fire button.
I don’t get much chanch to use this my 3 year old grandson loves video pinball I think the controller is way to stiff don’t work like the old ones of the 80s I ruled the game then lol fffffffffffffffff

As promised, an original CX-40. Arrived a little dusty, but, hey, it’s also thirty years old. Cleaned it up, looks good as new (minus slight wear). I have another Atari-compatible joystick with microswitches, I really prefer the feel of the original "disc" contacts, which this has. I’ve been using it with my Atari 800XL computer, controlling Pac-Man is much easier than with the compatible joystick. All in all, very happy with it.
