AC3 on the Wii U is one of those games you wished played better because it would’ve made it perfect, but you don’t care anyway because the game’s still way too good to be complaining over. Especially if you’re a Wii U owner? Yeah you need to be rejoicing over any solid attempt by a 3rd party to bring us a huge franchise, & that’s exactly what this is. Let’s hop into it.The Good & Bad About The World Map:This game is HUGE. Like…I’m not even kidding lol. If you ever owned a GameCube & remember first setting sail across the seas in Wind Waker, it’s like that, but 10 times bigger, & instead of sailing there you’re hopping from roof to roof running for your life. The map is ridiculous, but the environment in the game is so alive, there’s never a dull moment. You won’t mind running miles to search for treasure or reach your destination as there’s always something to do along the way. Hunting, Pickpocketing, delivering mail, assassination contracts, fighting off the red coats, & just exploring in general. The game makes you want to climb everything, jump over every gap, & the best part of it all is that you can. There’s ALWAYS a way to get somewhere. I’ve owned every single Nintendo console & I have never once experienced this magnitude of freedom on a Nintendo system. I’m quite pleased.I’ve encountered one problem with the world in this game though. It’s buggy at certain areas. Now don’t get me wrong, there are tons of people who’ve played the game without running into a single g.
If you’re going to play this game, do yourself a favour and don’t play Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag first. I probably would have liked this game way more if I hadn’t seen how breathtaking, immersive, gorgeous, and limitless Black Flag is. Comparatively, this game seems claustrophobic. Otherwise, the story is fine, if a little underwhelming. There are some interesting side quests. The shooting is really counter-intuitive, as is the "disarm" technique (don’t "press" the A button, HOLD IT). It takes forever for the game to get started and is mostly uninteresting until then. As always, the fighting is great although, just my opinion, this game seems less directed towards stealth kills and more directed towards melee than the rest of the franchise. If that’s your thing, great, but I play because I love strategy and tactical approaches. If I just wanted a shooter game I’d play Doom.
Wanton violence in a historical backdrop dripping with atmosphere! What the heck else do you need? Seriously tho it is violent for younger kids. Language abounds. This is good on the Wii U . Lots of play time.
I got this game for cheap at only $40. I have never played any of the other Assassin’s Creed games. Jumping right into the story will certainly make you confused and not sure what is happening. There is probably a deep and meaningful plot here, but unless you played the other games you won’t be able to enjoy it that much. Get use to watching cut scenes if you play this game because there is a lot of them and most of the cut scenes are full dialog only. However, the voice acting and writing is top notch so don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the effort put into them, but there is a very large amount of it. There is such large amount of them that it can take away from the fun factor of the game. The graphics are excellent as well is the sound. The controls are hit and miss. During more intense gameplay I find myself just hitting all the buttons because it’s more affective then actually trying. Combat controls suffer the most in my opinion. Fighting enemies can be a circus act of chaos. Expect to get hit often and become frustrated. Running through the town is fun itself and fairly fluent. That part of the game is done very well. Personally, I would either get the game cheap or rent it first and see if you like the gameplay. I don’t regret getting it for only $40 but I wouldn’t pay much more.
good game. makes a good addition to the assassins creed collection.
Heard I and II are better but they didn’t come out for the WiiU at least for sale on retrolio. Love the graphics, sound is pretty good (background conversations get really repetitive but still funny). Game mechanics work well but take a little to get used to. Far better, IMO, than AC Black Flag…
Having played ACII on PS3, I upgraded and purchased AC III on Wii U.The graphics are better and the story is even more interesting this time.Off TV Play works wonders. It is also much more convenient to have the map on the game pad than the little circle on the right bottom corner in AC II.The gameplay itself is similar, with same mechanics of movement and assassination.Fits nicely on Wii U and I will recommend this game. It has the DLC and Wii U also getting AC IV.Ubisoft has been supportive of Wii U, nicely complementing Nintendo.
I got this game because the price was right. I don’t really like history, but this was somewhat interesting. I preferred to use the Wii U Pro controller over the Gamepad, because a lot of the time you would be riding a horse and it is just easier on your hands. I’m not really into Assassin’s Creed so after the plot was over I stopped playing it. The ending left me with kind of an empty feeling and it doesn’t feel satisfying to the plot. It was worth playing though.
Up until this game I thought with every game they got better and better. But not with this one. It was still an awesome game but it seemed to lack that constant pressure to beat just one more mission until about a third of the way through. I used to play these games on xbox 360 but I got this one for wii u and xbox 360. I was very impressed. The version is basically identical to the xbox 360 version. The wii u game is brighter in some parts and darker in some than the xbox 360 version but It doesn’t after the game play at all. This is the perfect game to teach you how to use the wii u controller better as well. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes the Assassin’s creed games or wants and interesting look on history.
Awesome story line, side missions, exploration, graphic details but the game play has many glitches especially during & after battles of 5 or more opponents. I often find myself leaving afterward with a bayonet rifle sticking out of you or simply to you…when I hit leave the omnibus then return it corrects itself thank goodness.
