My son’s favorite christmas present, even though it is several years old, it makes it easy to learn functionality before we move to the more current version.
This game has gotten a lot of hate since it came out and I just wanted to set some things straight. Yes, some of the coding was pretty crappy and it definitely looks like EA didn’t commit enough time/money to this game’s development. However, it is still the NHL that you know and love. The gameplay was tweaked very well and allows players to use ALL of the game’s features unlike the initial release of the NHL 15 for XBox One. It looks great, just about as good as the XBox 360 (potato box) could. The checking and puck play has been improved over the NHL 14 gameplay. No more annoying arrows and crap are turned on by default in the settings like it was in NHL 14. The one drawback is really the Doc Emrick announcing; his lines and vocabulary for the game is miserably bad. It’s still a very good game with quality game play but there were definitely misses for them. But because I don’t expect that much from EA anymore I’m gonna give it the 5 stars since it’s an NHL series game. If this were any other series I would probably give it 3. But overall, you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.
Great game, very much enjoyed the new soundtrack. Not much of a change from ’14 except maybe tweaking things that they made for its predecessor to be more user friendly. Not a bad price either. Considering if I rebought ’14 it would be 5 or 10 dollars cheaper then it was a smarter move to go with ’15
Purchased this as gift for my son. Since he really have nothing to compare it to he is a happy camper.
My hubby got this as a Christmas present. He was obsessed for quite some time in playing this. Realistic and awesome. Neither of us are huge into video games so I can’t say much, but he was very happy and played it a lot.
good game
When I was younger I would play NHL games almost every day but nowadays I only play occasionally. Don’t get me wrong while I only play occasionally those sessions can last hours on end. So if I’m at home usually drinking beers I’ll play one of two games: online euchre on PC or online hockey on Xbox 360. So this review is basically just for Online Team Play(where you lock on one player) as I don’t play offline and rarely play the other online modes.This game is a little bit different from NHL 14. Obviously my character was new and low ranked so slower and weaker till I leveled up awhile. It took me one game to warm up and I was hooked again. The first game something happened that I never seen before. I always play D and was defending on the penalty kill when my stick was hit with a shot and shattered. I had seen this before so was ready to skate to the bench to get a new stick. So while I start heading to the bench I skate close to one of our team’s forwards and he hands me his stick LOL. So I stayed in the play and we killed the penalty. We eventually lost but I thought that was pretty cool. The collisions are also different as you can hit your teammates and I believe the goalies as well. Sometimes there will be incidental contact and you’ll go flying and no penalties. Pretty realistic. It just seems a bit different but pretty similar which I like personally. And I always like using the new teams online from other leagues even though their just different jerseys. There are s.

Was basically a roster update with some minor tweaks vs. NHL 2014. If you’re a huge fan of the game then I’d recommend. If you’re casual and have 14, stick with it.
