When I ordered my XBox, Sept 1st, 2001. I ordered 3 Launch Games also. Halo, Oddworld, and Air Force Delta Storm. I have had my XBox for 7 mos now, and AFDS is still the game I play the most. Flying games have always been my favorite games. AFDS gives armchair pilots, the best and biggest flying game Air Force, ever put in any flying game. You get over 70 jets, the most famous combat aircraft in the world from the late 1950s to present and beyond. Aircraft from US, UK, France, Far East, Russia, Canada, Middle East, China. Plus you get many past, present, and future jet prototypes, including many stealth aircraft. F4, A10, F15, F22, F26, Su-34, JSF, Mig 1.44, Lavi, F2, Super Harrier, Yak 141, F117 Nighthawk, Su-32, and dozens more. You fly them in over 50 missions, air to air, air to sea, and air to ground, and combination missions. The game is by far the best looking eye candy jet sim ever, high res models, textures, and amazing light and shadows effects everywhere. The Dolby 5.1 combat sounds are great. Jets scream, the missile effects are so good you can dodge them by the audio. Tracers sound different, depending on where the bullets hit. Explosions shake your walls. Enemy AI is good for a air combat game. Planes fly acrobaticly, will make head on passes at you, fly in formations with wingmen, always try to get on your six. Enemy gunners, and SAMs are deadly shots, so you have to out fly them also. AFDS offers lots of variety in planes and missions. Replay is high. The g.
Me and my friend have been trying to get a good air game. when starfox came out for N64 we thought we hade found it. and we did untill i got Air Force Delta Storm. everything about this game is great! the fack that you have to buy new planes makes you keep playing to see what the next one will be. and they have realy plans like the F16 and the F22 they also have different countrys plans and plans that were never used in war. one thing they could have done different was a better story!!! and whats with the date being “2000 and something”. for people like me and my friend this is the game we were looking for (to bad no 2 player)p.s please dont mind my spelling theres no spell check and i failed English
This game is the best Fighter Plane Game out there. The graphics and detail are unbelievable. The only bad thing about the game is it doesnt show you actually breaking the speed of sound when your reach 1100 mph. I rate this game 5 stars.
Wow. For what it was, I was expecting something reminescent of Descent, or somthing of that calliber. This simulation goes far beyond that. Totally underrated, this game has a great setup with easy controls, super-duper-realistic graphics, and a plethora of levels. This is one of my top 3 favorite games right now, and on this system that says a lot. However, I will warn you that if you play it on “Easy”, it’s crap. Easy only lets you use rudders, while “Difficult” allows you much more freedom of movement. This is the perfect gift for the Ice Man in every family.
I was looking through screenshots and viewing movies on IGN.com of this game, and it just looks incredible. I’m not much of an airplain/shooter type of guy, but I’m buying this one. Check out the movies and you’ll be convinced. ;)

I bet most of the people that wrote reviews never played the game. I, one the other hand, have. This gmae is a great simulation. The graphics are stunning. The music isnt all that great, but just turn up the sound effects and it will be fine. The contols are good, u basiclly know the controls before u play it. The only real downfall is that the missions start to get a little repetitive. Overall, the game is great and is definitly worth buying if u like air combat, simulation, or if u just like fun
This is the best air fighter game I have ever played. The planes are modeled after military fighter jets and the weapons are realistic. True, there are no training courses or practice modes, but play this game for and hour and you will be able to fly any of the 75 planes that you choose to take on each mission. At the end of each mission the game automatically goes into replay mode and you can see what you did from different camera angles. The graphics are cool, from the sound of jets flying right by you to the vapor trails they leave behind.The only thing I don’t like about this game is that it does not give you the option of listening to music you have recorded on the Xbox.
