I had this game as a kid on the first Xbox and lost it when my console crashed and I’m so happy you can still buy it , game was brand new , came on time, glad I didn’t have to drive to every game stop in ky looking for it
That’s right – I’ve never hunted, and never really plan to – but I really did like this game, and it surprised the heck out of me!Deer Hunt plays like a cross between Halo and Thief, and requires both strategy (your equipment, your scents and calls, clothing, the right gun, managing resources, etc) and quick fingers for those all-action moments. You’ll spend most of your hunt tracking the deer you want through huge, amazingly detailed environments, setting up your equipment, and luring that perfect buck into your sights. The controls are easy to learn, and there’s even an alternate control set for us lefty’s who like to game! I’d probably only have given it 4 stars, but the lefty-friendly thought pushes it up that final notch.Great game for the money, no doubt about that.
He loves it
good
It’s not a badd game but for some reason there’s always a flaw in some of their games
Deer Hunt 2004 is frustrating but still very fun. It has probably the best target ranges of any Cabela’s game. The hunting part of it is also fun but that’s where the frustration starts. Let’s say you do a quick hunt for Mulies in Wyoming. Let’s say the season you choose to hunt in gives you 3 buck tags. You begin your hunt and a little while later you punch the first 2 of your 3 buck tags. There is one red dot left (the trophy beacon that tells you where the animal is), when you get close enough to see the deer, guess what… it’s a Doe. You can’t shoot her because you don’t have a doe tag and she’s the last deer that spawned in when you started the hunt. Nothing you can do about it and you can’t finish the quick hunt. This happens to me just about every time. It makes Career mode pretty much impossible because you can’t make any progression because you can’t fill all your tags and complete your hunt. It’s not that bad if you are playing Quick Hunt with the intention of only taking one animal and then go hunt another map. This game is perfect for that. As far as realism compared to real hunting, it’s pretty close but it could be a little better. The antlers on the Fallow Deer are not palmated correctly. IRL they look kinda like a small moose antler turned sideways or a cricket bat. The ones in the game look too much like Caribou antlers. This game and any other Cabela’s game made by Sandgrain Studios, you’re in for a treat.
