This is arcade style racing so it’s a little easier to play than games that simulate a car’s control in detail. To me that’s what games should be! It is fun to just pick up and play rather than frustrating. Great for a casual or hard core gamer. This one is tons of fun. You race to unlock new and better cars. There are great pursuit races where you are the cop chasing a car which can only be stopped by causing it to breakdown (by ramming and crashing). The icing on the cake is crash mode. You have 30 different traffic scenarios to do where you try to cause the most expensive pile-up of cars, trucks, and busses. It is quite a rush and the graphics and sound are spectacular. World ranking and scores are kept via XBOX live which gives you extra incentive to do better. There is multiplayer, but not online. My only hopes for Burnout 3 would be the ability to play friends via XBOX live and save replays. The crashes are very spectacular and many very worthy of saving to show friends. Burnout 2 is a keeper!
This game is non stop excitement and thrills. The great part about this particular game is that it offers something every skill level of game play. It has bad cars and cool moves. Plus lots of hidden secert cars and levels. Its like five games in one. I can’t wait till the next adition is avaible.
great game
I work in film production, and, generally, my life is very, very complicated. When I sit down with a videogame, I want something, which unlike my real life, is simple and easy to understand, accompanied by a hair-rasing adrenaline rush. Burnout 2 delivers in spades! No it’s not “reality based”, but hey, I have a real car for that. What it is though, is internally consistent, so its fantasy physics quickly become believable.I also love the linear stucture. Too many games now are “open ended”. To me that means lacking in structure, lacking in tightness. Burnout 2 has only one difficulty level in its chamionship mode, and really only one way to get through said mode, but with perfectly ramping difficulty, and a wonderfully well thought-out variety of courses and challenges. Also great is the fact that the A.I. is NOT elastic, and will keep moving ahead if you screw up. Who likes eleastic A.I.? Why was it even invented? The graphics are not cutting edge, but they’re pretty good (better than Midnight Club at any rate) and have a sense of fun and humour to them. I hated the bland, greyish boxes they called “a realistic city” in Project Gotham. The places in Burnout 2 may not exist in real life, but they FEEL much more like real places you beleive COULD exist than the various cubes supposedly representing the buildings of NYC, London and San Fran in Project Gotham. Again, if you want to drive in a real city, why not go do so in real life? Video games are about fantasy and es.
Nice
TrĆĀØs bon jeu en trĆĀØs bon ĆĀ©tat.
How can people not like this game, or say its average. It is the best. Its a great game selling for less, BUY IT!!
Burnout 2: Point of Impact, is one wicked racing game. You race through on-coming traffic and try to reach the finish line, in the best time possible. You get rewarded points and increase your booster meter everytime your vehicle comes close to colliding with other cars but misses. When your booster meter fills up, you will be able to run faster with a speed burst (into traffic)which is a lot of fun! You can play Career mode where you race against computer oppenents or “crash” mode. In crash mode your objective is obviously to crash into other cars and cause the most damage possible to the most cars. You will be rewarded for causing lots of liability! Yep, a game that rewards you for crashing and causing pile ups! Car model damage and physics look very realistic. You see cars sliding, flipping over, smashing into one another, chunks from metal, and shattered glass from the windshields. The action during the crashes goes into super slow motion, and switches to many camera angles, making the crashes look very dramatic and devestating. Burnout is a different type of racer indeed!Pros:+excellent graphics+excellent animation+excellent controls+excellent tutorial+realistic damage model+good music+good sound effects+lots of race tracks+lots of cars+watch replays in slow motion+adrenaline inducingCons:-you can’t save replay-limited camara adjustment
lots of fun
This is an incredibly entertaining game! The gameplay is very arcady, which matches the style of game perfectly. This game is all about driving fast in heavy traffic, and everything in the game supports that, from the great level (track) design to the handling of the cars. Everything in this game is geared towards having fun, and they did a great job at it.Is the graphic the best I’ve ever seen? Maybe not, but we are now getting to a point where it really doesn’t matter so much anymore. Does it look real? It looks pretty real, although not quite as real as some of the other new racing games perhaps. But there is one thing this game does better than any other game I have seen: It gives you the sense of driving FAST. Incredibly fast that is. Yet the game still remains controllable.Great job Acclaim!
