Not sure about everyone else….but I’m on the easiest level and ……….whew!!!! It is definitely challenging! You have to make burgers as ordered (which is nice and easy at first) and as you progress, there are MORE burgers and ingredients added that have to be put on in a specific order or else your food is wasted and your customer leaves. And that isn’t the end of it!!! Not only do you have to remember HAMBURGER recipes…….you also have to make french fries (and then various specialty flavored french fries)……and then milk shakes (and a whole bunch of specialty milk shakes). This game (at least for me) is challenging and I find myself thinking of burger recipes as I’m falling asleep at night. If you are on the fence about buying it…..I would recommend getting it. It’s as fun and addictive as it is sometimes frustrating. If you like cake mania and diner dash…..you’ll probably like this game. :0)
I got Burger Island from the recommendation on retrolio because I had purchased Diner Dash and Cake Mania 2. It’s a little different from the other 2 games, you are actually making the food instead of serving. As stated before it does get a little difficult when more items are added to the recipe and some things are so close that you hit the wrong thing. (ex, when making fries you hit bacon when you want ketchup) I would watch out for that. Also, a couple of times either my game froze or there is something wrong with my ds because I would hit an item and it would not respond, at this time I would either need to restart or go to the main menu. All in all though the game was really challenging and fun, I would definetly recommend it!
As another reviewer mentioned, this game is alot like Cake Mania and Diner Dash. I think it is a little more interesting because there is more variety in the things you make. You must remember the recipe for each order and make them in that exact order or the customer will not buy it and of course there is a time limit. There are several different recipes you can unlock and buy for each category of burgers, fries, and milkshakes. It can get pretty intense. I think to make it harder, they should have made the player to be able to judge when the fries are done frying and the burgers cooking. Instead when you cook a burger or put the fries in the oil they will say done when hey are ready. You will never be making all 3 categories at the same time..in one level you will be doing just fries, just milkshakes, or just burgers. If all categories were merged in each level, the game would be a litle more challenging and fun.You get 5 lives so if you do not reach your goal in the level you lose a life which is different than Cake Mania and Diner Dash. The only real problem I see is that the ingrediants are kind of small and close together so you can end up hitting the wrong thing on accident and ruining the recipe. Also touching the item does not always register which again can cause you to ruin the order. It’s not a huge deal and does not make the game unplayable. It can be very repetitive but will keep you on your toes due to the different difficulty levels (kiddie size, regular, and ju.
The is good
I really liked this game, it was fun but it was a challenge. This game is like Cake Mania and Diner Dash, but much more difficult. You are basically doing the same thing as in those games, but in Burger Island, you MUST do things in certain steps and chronoligically, otherwise your order is ruined and you don’t get the sale.As you progress, you can buy new recipes but each new recipe you purchase requires more steps, and more work. So it takes a lot of memorization to sort out all your recipes and fill the orders as they come in.As with other service games of this type, if you’re not quick enough, you will lose the customer therefore, not making the sale. If you do not reach the sales goal for that shift, you lose a life and have to replay that shift. This is a great game, much more challenging than Cake Mania or DD, so beware. I started out in the regular (middle) level, thinking I could handle it. But after failing miserably, I switched to “Kiddie Size” (easiest) level and I still struggle to finish the levels, remember the recipes and reach the goals! So, since it is much more challenging, it is also much more fulfilling when you beat it, I’m not quite there yet, but I’m getting there and having fun doing it! My only complaint is that when you are trying to move quickly, sometimes the DS screen does not respond like you want it to. You might think you tapped an ingredient, but you didn’t and therefore, your recipe and order is ruined. This is a common gripe with a lot of DS g.
I bought this game a while ago, and it is very addicting. It starts off very slowly and quite easy but as you progress it gets quite difficult to fill all the order and not make any mistakes especially when some dishes have up to 10 ingredients, but overall I would recommend to anybody.
I love action adventure games! This game place exactly like the computer version (except that you touch the items on the screen instead of using your mouse!). One great bonus is that you can save three games at once so you and your friends can play at the same time. Another great bonus is that there are three levels of play; kiddie size, regular size, and jumbo size. I can only hope now that they develop a version for the Wii.
great
