Great entertainment of the classic games
So easy to use. Allow kids to try the old school video games.
Use this in our van. Keeps my youngest son entertained on longer drives.
Brought back many memories. Especially kicking my brother a** on these games.
My 11 year old loves it!
I got this for nostalgia’s sake (…yes, I had an Atari 2600 back in the day…), but also because I wanted to share a bit of video game history with my kids. I was curious how they’d respond to games that required more imagination and reflexes than today’s near photo-realistic adventures.Setup of the game was a snap. Simply install batteries, plug it into the old-style RCA jacks, and have at it. There’s an easy-to-use menu that you select game from. The games are exactly like I remember them, in all their 8-bit (or is it 7-bit) glory. I tried them all, from the best (Centipede, Adventure, and Warlords) to the worse (Canyon Bomber and Crystal Castles…what were they thinking?) and enjoyed the flashback. All the while I wondered what my kids would think, though—particularly the 12-year-old, who was most excited about more games, but also has the most exposure to the games of today.Turns out, those old games still have playability, even for today’s kids. And they like the same games that I find most playable. The 12-year-old has played Centipede and Warlords the most. The only thing this one-joystick version misses is the two-player fun of the 2600. Especially in games like Warlords. I also have to wonder why they didn’t include MORE games. Using today’s technology, I’d think they could slap a couple dozen 2600 games into one of these things.Overall, I think this Bridge Direct Plug & Play Joystick is a winner. I recommend it.
My brother loved t , too bad it doesn’t have that many games though
Bought this for my son’s birthday, he likes the old classic games and enjoyed playing a console like this at a babysitters.Very fun, and very easy to hook up
As described
Perfectly fine for the current price of ten bucks. Got it for Breakout, Centipede/Millipede, and Missile Command primarily. Only four stars because the joystick is a wrist killer. There is an easy fix, however. The joystick takes a lot of effort to move because there is too great a gap between the four pads at the base of the joystick and the four directional switches that activate movement. I’ll try to post a picture or two, but a five-minute fix is to remove the batteries from the unit and unscrew the four screws on the bottom of the unit. This will free the joystick mechanism from the electronics. The joystick consists off a rubber sheath over a plastic insert. The top of the insert is hollow. Simply take a small nail or screw with a thin head, or in my case a single stud round LEGO piece, and drop it down the top of the plastic insert so the head of the nail/screw/LEGO stud remains on top, not falling through. That extra thickness of the nailhead/screwhead/LEGO stud serves to shorten the travel distance required to generate movement once you reattach the joystick to the electronics. When reassembling, take care to align the larger pair of pads on the bottom of the white inner stick with the cutouts visible on the bottom of the black outer sleeve. Also, make sure you put the Fire button back in it’s hole! You should be able to test your results without screwing the two portions of the product together… just swap a different nail/screw/LEGO piece if the results aren’t sat.
