one of my childhood favorites. Game may not be _a 10 but it has lot of legends on there including Sting and all the NWO. So i still love it.
Alright. Here is a game that not a lot of people understand fully. This review is going all the way back to 1999 so I will try my best to review it as if it was the 90’s in comparison to other games of the era.Graphics: 7.5/10 This was an excellent looking wrestling game in terms of the arena lighting and real life faces on the character models. The amount of WCW arenas is an added bonus as well. There is no rendered crowd though. The animations are what you’d expect from an EA Sports title in the late 90’s. VERY OLD looking compared to todays’ standards.Gameplay: 7/10 There is a STEEP learning curve for this game. When I was 6-7 years old I played this game religiously and figured out how to win. Timing the grapple moves and reversals is everything and it can get a bit frustrating.Sound: 8/10 The commentary is quite good on the PSOne version because of the added lines from Schiavone and Bobby Heenan and on the N64 only Schiavone is heard. There is a good amount of superstar entrance music which adds to the WCW broadcast feel. I still to this day hear some hidden commentary lines every now and then. It’s pretty dynamic.Lasting Appeal: 5/10 Personally I would say this game can get quite addicting on the Quest for the best mode and just playing matches in general when you know what you are doing. There is a create wrestler mode even though there is limited options. This game is really fun when you play with friends. But most would say there isn’t much content here.Verdict- Expe.
Forgeting about the poor graphics, collusion detection and long load times(if your not using the PS2’s speed loading and texture smoothing features)WCW Mayhem is the best sounding PS1 wrestling game of all time. From Famed Ring Announcer Mean Gene Okerlund to commentaries of Tony Shiavone and Bobby “The Brain”Heenan(the latter is hilarious,as in real life)do an outstanding job of bringing the audio realism of an actual WCW wrestling match to your CD-Rom Based Playstation console. And like many typical great sounding EA PS games this game supports Dolby Surround sound so owners of such speaker systems are in for an audio treat.
looked and worked like brand new great price fast shipping I bought wcw mayhem and wcw vs the world from jjgamesguy very happy with my purchase haven’t played this games since I was a kid thanks retrolio and jjgamesguy
I used this product for my ps1 game console. I really liked this game because I’m a big wrestling fan.
THIS IS THE BEST DAMN WRESTLING GAME EVER TO BE ON PLAYSTATIONTHERES LOTS OF WRESTLERS TO CHOOSE FROMTHE BACKSTAGE AREAS ARE EPICAND THE CREATE A WRESTLER IS BETTER THAN WWF ATTITUDES AND WWF SMACKDOWNTHE CONTROLS ARE EASY AND THE CPU DOESNT PUT UPTOO MUCH OF A FIGHT WHICH IS GREAT IF YOU WANT TO JUSTDOMINATE THE MATCHANY WCW FAN WHO MISSES THE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE THISPLAYING TJIS GAME WILL BRING YOU ENDLESS NOSTALGIA
I thought the game was, fun, for how old it is… and what you can do in the game. Wish the game came with it’s actual original case. But other than that, fun.
WCW Mayhem rocks! You can go anywhere Backstage from the Boiler room to the Bathroom. The weapon list ranges from Tasers to Tables to Signs.Their are six matche types including four special rules you can add to singles matches. Plus you can do finishing moves with just one button. …
Really good game when I got the game it look brand new and it played really good
The second to last WCW game proved that it had what it took to compete with the WWF (if only the TV show did as well). Teh controls are very fluent, the matches (although needed variety) are fun. This also holds a huge amount of wrestlers, and an ok create a wrestler. The best part is that you can actually for the first time (in the WCW games) listen to the theme music before you made your guy (given up in WWF Smackdown) and they last longer than 5 seconds. The only real problem here is the create a wrestler, it’s preety shallow and the move list is that of where you must pick another guys moves (I generally used either Sting, Goldberg, Nash, or Chris Benoit) and stick with that.I guess the real reason I love this game so much is the fact that it holds the best Theme Music to date. My favorite theme Music (even though I am not a WCW fan) is the four horsemen. That music is awsome.Overall this gasme is worth checking into, just avoid Thunder and Backstage assault.
