Great game, fun to play, wish they would make a squeal…
I am a big fan of Warhammer 40k universe and this game is exactly what a Warhammer 40k fan will love. Throughout the game, I was screaming ‘for the Emperor ‘ !!!!Humour aside, it is a very nice game, with nice graphics, gameplay and story.
Amazing game! I wasn’t expecting to be this good! The graphics are outstanding! There is no framerate or screen tearing issues at all! The music is epic and the pace perfect. This game is a perfect mix of a Hack and Slash game and a third person shooter. Super fun! I’d totally recommend it!
I bought this game last fall but just played it. Lots of Fun! MP was ok as well. This is a rip-roaring game. Heh, I see the price has really dropped. Anyway, I had a really good time with this game. Although there is no shotgun-type 1-hit gun, there is a lot of melee. I also like taking a shot with my gun when in melee. Fury, the power up attack, is very cool.Well, no need to review the whole game. I just wanted to say this is worth playing. I had a good time playing this game.
IGN game this game somewhat of a ho-hum rating (but the subscribers rated it quite a bit higher). I liked it. The final boss(es) are a pain in the rump, but that’s always the case with monsters you’ve got to shoot or bash 1 zillion times (I wish they’d get rid of that tact, a well placed bazooka shot between the eyes should fix about anything). The multiplayer is pretty fun, but there’s the diehards that spent the last few months mastering the game without sleep, so they’re always a…hmm… challenge. The campaign takes a decent amount of time. I finished Homefront in six hours, but this took me a few days in hard mode. It’s a good buy if you like the Warhammer 40k franchise.
For starters, I’m not very familiar or well-versed in Warhammer 40K Universe, so I can’t speak for how accurate the game is in portraying the Ultramarines or other characters & races you will find throughout the game, but I can tell you that this game was absolutely awesome.Gameplay & ControlsGameplay is from a 3rd person perspective that allows you to use both joysticks to control your movement and camera. This is a little tricky at first, but once you’re in control of it, it’s a feature of the game you’ll grow to love. The combat system, in my opinion, is what makes the game so much fun to play. I liken it to a mix between a shooter and close-combat/melee combination. What’s truly amazing about the combat system is how seamless the transition between ranged shooter and close combat/melee is and really enhances your feel of being in complete control of your character. Don’t expect to skate through this game shooting enemies from a long distance though as the only way you’re able to ‘heal’ your character is by completing close-combat “execution” moves – which are a visual feast of blood and gore, by the way. Some have said the single player game is short (6-8 hours, I believe), so that may be one drawback depending on your level of ability.WeaponsI’m sure Warhammer 40K fans will love the diverse array of weapons at their disposal. You begin with a standard bolt pistol and combat knife, but throughout the game you will acquire more powerful weapons, such as the bolter (with kr.
I feel that this game simply came out at the wrong time. By pitting it against Gears 3, THQ potentially cut off a substantial chunk of sales, not to mention reviewer attention, from this underrated gem. Not only is this game a culmination of decades of some of the richest lore in science fiction, it is also a superb title that offers a ton of value for money.Graphics: Animations, design, the frame-rate and the overall textures look amazing. At first I felt that there wasn’t enough enemy variety, but upon subsequent playthroughs (it is very addictive), realized that there was actually quite a bit of variation in ork types, not to mention surprise enemies. I especially loved the battle with the Warboss! More is always welcome, however. Perhaps for the sequel? Fingers crossed.Sound: I actually have the soundtrack CD, and it really is one of the best I have heard this year. Epic, pulse pounding drums and rich, emotive string ensembles really create the sort of backdrop that befits a bleak, futile, war torn universe. Kudos to the composers.Story: Above average. It actually takes multiple playthroughs to realize that there is actually quite a bit going on. Additionally, collecting all of the servo skulls reveals a bit more about what was going on before/during the ork invasion of Ajakis. While I felt the story was comparable to other triple A shooters like Killzone etc. (i.e. non stop action over the span of a day or so), it really could have incorporated more a Mass Effect slower.
This is a game about blowing stuff away and bringing the hammer down (literaly!).Unfortunately that is about it. Shoot orcs, smash orcs, shoot orcs, and so on.On normal setting you can probably breeze through this game in a few days easy. But what kept me going is the feeling of basically being a walking tank. The weapons are huge, most/all the ammo blows up on impact.Orcs have huge heads so you can feel like a pro with all the headshots. LOLThe Fun:-Jetpack and Giant Hammer = Tons of Fun-Jetpack orcs trying to get on your ship, shoot em off!The Tiring:After about the 97th wave of orcs of foot…Slow walking… but I guess I should not complain, that armor looks waaaaay heavy.Bottom line, if you can get this for cheap and are a fan of Warhammer 40k it will be a fun ride.
This game is excellent had a lot of fun would recommend for the great battles and combat or just do your own thing
Not game of the year material, but definitely worth the price. A must for fans, very well put together, but it suffers from pacing issues. I enjoyed it.
