The best strategy game ever, I wish I could follow the car inside the game and would be more fun with train or horse carriage or mini games. I play SIM city but it’s not fun.
I wanted a simulation game and Sim City 4 was not available for Windows 7. I perused the reviews for this product and had obvious trepidation as a result. After much consideration, I elected to download. I must say that the download was quick and successful, without any issues. The game is both enjoyable and challenging. I have been an retrolio member for several years and have always had stellar service, from the ordering process, through delivery. The only issues I have ever experienced, have been from third party vendors and they were resolved to my satisfaction, I have come to rely on retrolio as a reputable retailer and am completely satisfied with their service.
Game is very close to tropics 2
I love this game. I am not a ‘gamer’ and don’t enjoy the games revolving around shooting people and things of this sort. This game centers around the idea of being a ruler of a small island. The gameplay is easy, and doesn’t require lightning fast reflexes, which makes it a nice game for relaxing. I can also play this from my laptop while sitting in bed, so it is good for comfortable playing.
It’s a great game that doesn’t get old. Also has a pretty long campaign. There are plenty of add on you can buy and make it even better.
First, I have seen in most of the negative reviews that this game crashes all the time. Maybe it was before the patches, but I have never had it crash and have played around 5 hours so far. I loved Tropico 3, and this is basically just an expansion pack, more scenarios, new buildings… I guess since they have new voice actors and some new features like the volcano and tornadoes they can call it a new game. retrolio has them super cheap across all platforms and they are well worth it at the discounted price. This review is based on the price I paid too, if it was full retail i would have to give it 4 stars for the high price of an expansion.As far as the game goes, like I said I have never had this or Tropico 3 crash on me and love them both, they are building games and very simple which is great when you want to sit down for an hour and just play (and not have to remember 100 little details of how to play the game). The atmosphere of the game is great, music, voice acting, colors/graphics are perfect, playing this on a 2560X1440 resolution monitor is just beautiful. Not a very high demanding game either, most computers can handle it just fine.I have played so many $60 games and thought “why the @#$% did I spend $60 on this” where this game I have never doubted the (reduced) cost of it, amazing value. And if you don’t like this type of game, don’t give it bad ratings just because you don’t like the genre, that would be like my wife saying that Apocalypse Now was a 1 sta.
The downloaded version works great. I had no trouble downloading and installing. There is an update to wait through before playing, but it takes about the right amount of time to kiss up to the wife before gaming non-stop for several days. Buy her some cho-co-la-te before you install the game. It’ll give her something to do.This game is so addicting I lost two days to it. Good game overall; really fills the gap left by the lack of SimCity type games but I experienced some bugs/glitches/freezes throughout the game, some of which caused me to have to restart missions entirely which could be a waste of a lot of time.This being a PC game, I can’t say for sure that the issues are due to the game and for the most part they didn’t detract from the game too much. Played through the whole thing in a few dozen hours and there were probably just 2 or 3 really frustrating moments.
Better graphics than the previous versions. Weather and earthquakes, volcanoes and political settings can make this game easy or difficult.
A total distraction from everything which was a blessing and a curse. Takes up a bunch of space on your laptop though if you download it. If you don’t have a lot of space but you do have a cd drive, get the disk.
