What a wonderful game! Has a great "swing" feel utilizing the Analog controls (once you get the hang of it). The swing adjust option makes a world of difference. For a more "Pro" feel, turn off the "flight control" (Pro mode). What this game NEEDS: more courses, more players, deeper stats, faster refresh rate, finer anti-aliasing – next version…
This was purchased as a gift. I do not own or use a gaming console. The item was received in a timely manner and the recipient was pleased with the gift- about all I can tell you about the item.
The gameplay is great. This game is fun to play and the controls are easy to use after a little practice. The camera angles are outstanding. But the game also lacks a lot, no create your own player like KOK 2001, only three courses, and only four (or five, can’t remember) real golfers. The PC version allows gamers to create their own courses. Couldn’t EA Sports have given us the same pleasure? I hope at least when the PS2 supports on-line gaming we can at least participate in the on-line tournaments with the PC players.Oh and the last thing, this game really shows off the lack of anti-aliasing in the PS2, but the graphics are still pretty good.
The best golf game i ever played. Graphics were good. There just wasn’t anyone else for me to play against that made it a challenge. 3 courses and a bunch of different modes kept me busy for a while. My biggest complaint is noise. Not enough. Unless there’s someone else in the room talking, it can get errily quiet. The only other thing was i thought it was to easy to control ball flight, and it didn’t present much of a challenge. Still worth the money though. Might want to rent it first.
Well, I read the mixed reviews on this game and decided to buy it anyway. I was scared to purchase it because the last game I had gotten was NBA Live 2001 and I didn’t want another mess such as that. But when I began playing this game I realized that the good aspects completely outweigh the bad. The controls are great. The graphics are great. The courses are perfect matches of the real ones. The game is basically a ton of fun. It’s becoming an new favorite of mine behind Madden 2001. I saw in previous reviews that individuals were trashing the games few characters and three courses. I haven’t even noticed that fact that these items are missing. The games gives me exactly what I want in a golf game which is good controls, great graphics, and classic courses. Yeah, it sucks not an having Augusta National or TPC Sawgrass in the game, but it really doesn’t matter when you and your friends sit down and play into the wee hours of the morning. This game gives you enough to keep you entertained until next year when a PGA 2002 comes out and has all those things that might be missing. So go out and get this game if your a true fan of golf games, because it’s one of the best I’ve seen.
This is a good game it has three golf courses pebble beach, poopy hills and spyglass hill there are so many ways to hit the ball its so good. You can play 6 different kinds of shots, and it has greatg graghics. there are about 5 or 6 diff. types of games – skins, match, tourny, stroke, practice, and play now mode which is a random games that the computer picks.
This is the best golf game I have ever played.
I have Swing Away Golf and this by far and away is much better. I really like the courses and my kids and I have played it for hours. If you like golf it’s worth the money. My kids think it’s the BOMB!!!!!
This game has amazing graphics & is well worth the investment. It is challenging, yet not too technically difficult to play. My only complaint is the courses. Three is too few & they are very similar. Watching The Player’s Championship this weekend really made me want that course to be included. It has been in other games many times before & I would love to be hitting towards the Island Green on 17 just like the pros.
As an owner of the last Tiger Woods on PS, my love first began then. Late nights turning to early mornings with a gang of friends who don’t know how to go home at a decent hour. Tiger Woods PGA Tour is causing the same affect as the last. 6 friends gathering after work for a game of golf and they don’t leave to go home until 3 or 4 a.m. This game has it all as far I’m concern when it comes to golf for a video game. None of us has ever picked up a club before but got madd skills when it comes to Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Graphics are much better and I love how this version makes you think more about what clubs to choose, chips verses punches and pitches, grass shots verses green shots. This is a must have for any golf head or those who wants to get a better understanding of golf.oNe
