This isn’t the normal crap driving games that everyone seems to be putting out these days. This game is all about Ferrari’s but also about driving and feel. GT5 and Forza go back and forth about how real the physics are and how great the graphics looks. But they both lack feel. This game has that missing feel! You trail brake into a corner, hit the apex and massage the throttle back on to full. that’s how you drive a real car on a real track, that’s how you drive the Ferrari’s in this game!I’m not sure where people are coming from with the graphics, I think they’re as good as anything else on xbox. (it’s all some variant of a 720p signal, if you want good graphics go PC) There’s some flickering in some of the track entourage but it’s minor stuff. No music, good! As for the sound of the cars… never heard the sounds of those old Ferrari’s so I don’t know how accurate these are. Don’t really care, once again this game is about driving and Ferrari’s. And it does both of those really well.Don’t misunderstand this game isn’t perfect. First off it’s a game, not a simulator. There are no simulators on consoles! My gripes are all the old cars seem to have 5 speed transmissions and I know most of them were 4 speeds. That’s a minor complaint. The tire grip fades WAY too fast. It’s almost impossible to complete a 10 lap race because by lap 9 the grip is just gone and you have to limp the car around the track so not to spin it. The AI has a tendency to run into you if yo.
I have to say that this game is very misunderstood. Test Drive is a very accurate title; it’s only partially a racing game. It’s really more of an ode to Ferrari and a chance to “drive” all of the legends, ergo its title. Make no mistake, though: this is a very, very tough game. You have to want some frustration for the ultimate reward of flinging a Ferrari legend around the track to the best of your ability. You’ll enjoy it as long as you know what you’re buying.
I was looking for the best Ferrari racing game out there, and I think I have found it! The bad reviews here are misleading, its IS a bit hard, but only because its more simulator than arcade racing. You need to brake and take proper racing lines, plus Ferraris are finicky to start with. You can race some good cars on a few tracks right out of the box, and TONS to unlock. Graphics are pretty good, sounds are ok. I would write more good stuff but Im gonna go fling the F40 around Monza!!BONUS – Official Ferrari licensed product, genuine numbered Ferrari seal on plastic wrap!
Kids love playing
I disagree with those complining about this game. GT5 is kids stuff, easy to drive not very challenging. Those that complain usually turn on all the assists and blast around knocking everyone off track, as if they had some kind of right. Test Drive Ferrari Legends, is not easy, has great driving physics, this is how cars handle, learning to drive the cars and enjoy the game. As for someone having over 1000 hours on GT5 does not prove a thing. I suspect this person does not like Supercar Challenge amother superb game with good driving physics, but it is not easy. Just because game are popular does not mean they are the best.Cheers.OB

This game is old school. You will not find custom upgrades, customization options, or low riders. You will find fun and a lot of Ferraris though.This game is straight old school. No open world. You choose a challenge from the menu and race. They don’t make em like this anymore. I enjoy it, but others may count this as a weakness.The game does have several weakness. The first is the graphics. The cars look ok, but tracks lack overall detail. Much better in GT5 and Forza. Also sound is pretty lacking. The sound of the cars is pretty unrealistic and their is little to no music in the game. Car handling can also seem funky. On the plus side, this game has amazing car selection. I love the old Ferraris and the old versions of the tracks. You can race the tracks as they were in the 1950’s and 60’s. I would reccomend this game to any historical car and racing fan. A lot of fun if you enjoy old school racing games.
