I am a fan of armor combat and this game is what I have been waiting for. The game itself is 10/10 but the kinects control is 6/10. However the game is so good, the kinects part is not too bad once I get used to its quirkiness. Remember the little gem known as Panzer Front on original Playstation? If you know what I am talking about then I think you may very well like this game if you are willing to be patient and adapt to Kinect the best you can. Even with the Kinect flaw, I am beating most of the mission on 1 or 2 tries. There are definitely few hard ones which were realistic given the situation. Overall, this is the Demon’s Soul/Dark Soul for us armor combat fans! However, I must say do try the demo to see if you like it first. If the price goes down to $20, it is definitely a good one for collection since I am pretty sure the way the reviews been going, From Software and Capcom will never make another game like this…
I got this game on retrolio for a steal (around $8), and I’m really enjoying it! I’ve played action games for a long time, including Call of Duty, Halo, etc and this is probably the single most immersive video game experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve only played the first handful of missions.First off, I want to get the big issue out of the way: The Kinect controls. I have no idea what people are talking about when the say the game is “broken” or “unplayable.” It took me, maybe five minutes of easy calibrating (assisted by the in-game calibration tool) to get it to work properly. You have to make sure the Kinect can see when you are sitting and when you are standing. All I had to do was use a chair and sit in the middle of the room at the right distance. That’s it.Of course, because some controls are close to each other, there were a couple of times where the Kinect was confused about what I was reaching for, but this happened only, like, 3 or 4 times during the first three missions, and didn’t really impact what I was doing. You have to be deliberate in your motions. I know that can be difficult when you’re panicking, but that’s key.Another thing that I’ve seen people doing on YouTube showing how the game “doesn’t work” is they’re trying to lean forward to look out the front viewport. This is absolutely wrong. All you have to do is put your hands (with the controller in them) forward and then pull them back, as if you’re handing someone something. It’s that simple..
Fun game for the grandchildren and myself.
I had fun with it anyways. While it’s true that kinect functionalities are bit spotty with detection and recognition but it works well enough if I’m deliberate and slower in making the gestures.
Great I love the game but my friends think the game is hard maybe because there not trying but over all it’s perfect
got to try interface
Well to start off by saying that the game is pretty darn good. Not bad for a first war game on Kinect. I really like the game because you can control the robot or whatever you want to call it. But when you get in the missions, it is pretty darn hard because they expect you to be quick on the missions. Yea, it is like war speed like you have to react quicker with the objectives.Graphics- 8/10gameplay- 7/10Sound- 9/10Story- 8/10Kinect controls- 6/10I dont have much to say about this game. It is really up to you to get it or try the demo. The game is not that bad.. I bought it because i thought it was very cool and you can control by using the Kinect. At first, i didnt know you have to use a chair to actually play the game. I had some difficulties when i was going through the steps lol. There are only two steps and i couldnt pass the second step. It took only a couple of hours to figure it out. The chair solved it.lol So it really up to you to get the game and to try it out..
The reviews that mention the game being unplayable due to Kinect controls almost seem like a conspiracy. I got this game recently and have been having a grand time with it. One of the best mech sims since the original to came out for the old school xbox. The most important part is calibrating kinect before getting into the game and making sure you are far enough away so that you body is entirely visible by the sensor, especially your hands. You need to have a clear space around in front of the kinect and you cannot have microphone poles or lamps that have parts which to the kinect may look like an arm. Next you have to make sure that your movements are at moderate speed. Jerking your arm in any direction will result in loss of accuracy and you will hitting everything in the cockpit except the thing you want. The story so far is a lot of fun to go through and makes sense. The interaction between characters is genuine and made better with good facial capture. There is perma-death for your squad in this game so losing someone because you messed up as the operator hits home. The sound is immersive and powerful making everything come alive during combat and during downtime. The graphics leave quite a bit to be desired, but the art direction and level design sell the atmosphere really well regardless. The game poses quite a significant amount of challenge to the player, and while it is no Dark Souls there is a learning curve here and you need to think strategically throughout the ca.
its for my grandson and he’s very happy about the way it moves that he cant stop playing it once he starts.
I bought this game expecting it to be mediocre. But I had a lot of fun. Only reason I bought it is because I bought a 360 one day and I had already had Kinect cause I was using it as a 3D scanner. The controls are sometimes hard to work with, but not to the point that it makes the game unplayable. The game has a learning curve, and some terrible design choices, but the combat is quite fun.Only found 2 levels in the game are extremely frustrating
