My favorite fighting game, very fun to play co-op!
Wow!
perfect
Pretty awesome game. I enjoy the customization and the soundtrack is pretty cool. I don’t play it too often but it makes it’s way into the system whenever there are people over.
A lot of people are writing horrible reviews and first of all it is not that bad. A lot of you guys are seriously fustrated because Soul Calibur changed completely. I personally really love the change. and I have played soul Calibur since Soul Calibur 2 was out. Soul Calibur series ended in my opinion a long time ago.. I’m glad it has changed because the 4th one sucked so bad and I hated it with a passion. Story mode was taken out. fighting slowed down. Multiplayer was new but it lagged worse you would have ever imagined.Soul Calibur V in other words is not a sequel to the Soul Calibur series..The story mode with english voices really sucks but if you change it to Japanese it will feel like an anime well sort of.. I personally really liked..And to first of all correct 75% of everyone’s review.. Fighting games are about fighting NOT Story Line.. if you are playing for story line.. I have no idea where you have been.. because last time I checked Story line for fighting games like these suck terribly.. this one atleast would take you away from the concept of just fighting.. it felt different in other words not random and stupid..IF you have never played Soul Calibur I think this game is really great because it is really great and anyone can win.. No one use to beat me in SCIII and eventually it got boring. in this one I lose and win so I am really loving the balance within players.. If you are competitive player than you will encounter a lot of problems..As an overall. I think t.
An instant family favorite !!!!
Its not surprising a game like this with virtually no advertising sold so well. For the ps3, the graphics are unbeatable. Gameplay is fun and the online is great. HOWEVER, they did get rid of a few fan-favorite characters, and added in crappy ones. Why they did this, I do not understand. Classes are generally balanced except for a set few.
Game is a great fighting game, with some nice side action in building a charterer your self and on-line play. I owe the other 4 games so for me this was a no brainier to buy. hours of fun from this game.
Intro: I like a wide variety of games. I never got into a lot of fighting games. But one fighting game I have liked ever since I played it at a friend’s house is the Soul Calibur series. I played the heck out of Soul Calibur II on the GameCube. I got Soul Calibur IV when I got my PS3 but I never really got into it.Presentation:The menus are ok looking, not much has really changed or evolved since Soul Calibur II. The opening high-definition cut-scene that the seems to define the series opening is not as good as it was in previous renditions of the game. But this factor is somewhat minor, as how many times are you really going to sit there and watch the opening cut-scene on purpose? My biggest complaint is the weird menu systems, and the loading screen (which still just says “loading”) and the various 90’s esq RPG map-menu systems. With all the stylizing of graphics and other games, the overall presentation outside of gameplay in this game seems untouched since the 90’s. It needs to be updated.Gameplay:The gameplay and fighting is as solid as ever. Many of the characters remain the same, of course there are a few new ones and even younger replacements for the previous young characters (how come they don’t replace the old characters like Ivy and Voldo?). Many of the moves are the same as in previous renditions of the game. But the system works as good as ever. There’s a soul edge meter and certain moves require the use of this meter and those moves look pretty amaz.
Great game! I love this series.
