In the game’s 16 tracks, the player competes against characters. Either control by computers or other players in story and battle modes. Also it was release in Europe the following month and for Windows at the end of the year. A Game Boy Advance version, develop by Backbone Entertainment, was cancel.
The game was produce in commemoration of the Sonic series’ 15th anniversary. And was the first Sonic racing game since the 1997 Traveller’s Tales game Sonic R. Sonic Team want to make their own game that was superior to any previous Sonic racing game. However, it was design to appeal to fans of Sonic and extreme sports video games. The development team did not take inspiration from any prior games. Sonic Riders was also the last Sonic title produce with the involvement of franchise co-creator Yuji Naka. Who act as executive producer and left Sega shortly after its release.
Sonic Riders was release to mix reviews but was a commercial success and was later re-released under the GameCube and PlayStation 2 bestseller lines. Reviewers criticize its gameplay, controls, and overall design. Praise was direct at the visual style, soundtrack and the sense of speed while racing. Overall, they deemed it a lackluster game both within the Sonic franchise and the racing game medium. That had its highlights but ultimately fell to its shortcomings. Despite the mix reviews, two sequels, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (2008) and Sonic Free Riders (2010), were develop and release.

I was pleasantly surprised when my package arrived wrapped like a new game. The care taken to package an ship the game cube game was second to none. No issues with the quality it was better than described actually. It performs perfectly. I absolutely recommend this shop. Shipping was amazing too. I’ve had this game since 2008 and i was super addicted. Then I didn’t play it for a year or two. But now I dug out my GameCube and started playing again. Once again I was addicted. I noticed it had lots of scratches and soon it didnt read the disc. I tried to fix it, but nothing helped. Eventually I just decided to bye a new one. Fortunately I had my progress saved on a memory card so I dont have to start all over again! If you like Sonic racing games then this is a must buy! GAME IS AWESOME!!
