Hubby’s happy, i’m happy
Like other games, you can play this one at different experience levels and at anything above normal it can be very challenging and sometimes frustrating. Taking out the attack copter at the hard level was impossible for me and very frustrating since it keeps you at a frantic pace. Also some of the sniper sections were too frustrating to play since you get shot so easily and have to repeat the sections you’ve already accomplished, which can be tedious and infuriating. So why do I give it 5 stars? I play the game with the shooter rifle and at the easy and normal levels you can have great fun setting up your teammates in ambushing the enemy or just setting the team up and then sending them in to deal with the enemies themselves (unlike Killzone 3 which I loved but, unfortunately, doesn’t include this feature). This can lead to some really laughable encounters. In one particular encounter I gave the command to move in and then took a sip of cola – I nearly choked on the cola, laughing, when I saw what happened. Of course at any level above normal you can’t get away with this since your team will get slaughtered. So sometimes when I just want a good laugh I’ll go back to easy mode for the sheer enjoyment. At the higher levels you have to take this game more seriously and for me it’s very challenging. I haven’t played the previous versions of this game but I saw mention of voice commands which would have been a great addition to this version. So, for the the sheer laugh.
Love it. Period.
Perfect
addictive..lol
Everyone in my house plays it, even the non gamers! My oldest really really loves it, he wants to join the military when he graduates and loves all Tom Clancy games and books cause they are, according to the history channel, the closest to the real action stuff in the services! He has rarely used real weapons and between the games and books he’s read he knows too much!! LOL
The GoodWell-balanced squad command mechanic Forty Five is a refreshingly authentic female soldier Enjoyable cooperative mode Soundtrack creates a sense of place and purpose Weapon improvements are persistent across every mode. The BadStealth action has some hitches Intermittent network issues Occasionally wonky AI.Though it has a long history of bringing tactical third-person shooter action to Sony systems, the SOCOM series’ debut on the PlayStation 3 failed to fully capture the excitement of its predecessors. Yet while SOCOM: Confrontation disappointed, SOCOM 4 delivers. The substantial campaign makes good use of setting and characters to create an engaging tour of duty in which squad tactics play a nicely balanced role. The online cooperative mode lets up to five players band together for stand-alone missions that can offer a serious challenge and engender a good sense of camaraderie. Those looking for competition will find plenty to like in the online multiplayer, where up to 32 players compete on large, well-designed maps in a variety of game types, including tense variants with the classic SOCOM rules that disallow respawning in the middle of a match. Both single- and multiplayer do have some issues, including imperfect stealth action, visual oddities, and intermittent network problems. Fortunately, these limitations don’t spoil the fun, and SOCOM 4 makes it exciting to experience what each mode has to offer.
