this review is a bit late but I really liked this game the commentary between Garcia Hotspur and Johnson was hilarious to me and i liked the weapons. It had some great nods/references to other games, movies, and tv my favorite being the Evil Dead esque chapters
While this game is good, I feel like it had potential to be something more. A bit on the short side.If you’re into SUDA51 games, then grab it. If you like third person shoots and are looking for something different, then try it. If you play Madden, then why are you reading this?
This is a sequel to Resident Evil 4 I think. I dunno. I can’t tell if it isn’t but it sure does feel like one.

Originally I had decided to wait for this game to drop in price before I bought it, but on sudden urge to purchase it merely because of composer I pre-ordered the game. Thank goodness I had that urge. Once I started playing the game I didn’t stop until it was finished 9 hours later.The controls in this game are very similar to Resident Evil 5 but the atmosphere and music are quite a lot like the silent hill games. This game seems to pull the best from both games. Though the plot of the game is rather dark the game has quite a lot of entertaining humor in it. My major and only complaint is that the game was lacking in difficulty. I played through on normal and rarely felt challenged. If you happen to be considering this game I highly suggest you try it out. This is easily one the most entertaining releases I’ve played this year.
Sick great game!
Shadows of the Damned has a great sense of humor, terrific mechanics and s fun upgrade system for your weapons. Most levels and some enemies also involve a little bit of puzzle-solvoing ability to decipher. The story is not a new one to video games: the hero’s girlfriend gets kidnapped and he blasts his way through Hell (literally in this case) to rescue her. By way of tone, let’s just say an entire chapter is an homage to Evil Dead 2. If you’re a fan of this film, you’ll probably dig this video game. If you saw Evil Dead 2 and didn’t like it, you’ll hate this video game. If you haven’t seen Evil Dead 2, my suggestion would be to watch it. If you’re reading a review of Shadows of the Damned, chances are you’re the kind of guy who’ll like Evil Dead 2. Order it when you order this game. But be warned, it’s not much of a chick movie, (unless the chick happens to be ultra cool). So if you’re planning on having a girl over for a movie (and maybe a glass of wine or two) then order The Empire Strikes Back or Raiders of the Lost Ark when you order Shadows of the Damned and Evil Dead 2. Most girls will watch either of this movies and really get into them. If not. If she insists on a film with Katherine Heigle or Ryan Gosling in it, then I can promise you you’re wasting your time. Not only is she your intellectual inferior, but she’ll never let you play with her boobs. In which case, just order Evil Dead 2 and Shadows of the Damned and enjoy a little bro time until the right.
One of the coolest games I’ve ever played. Being an older game, the controls can feel a little funky and “bad” but it is quite playable, just takes getting used to. Sadly, I never actually beat this game. I got to the final boss and he was ridiculously hard that I just gave up. One day I’ll finish it.Anyways, it’s a very special and epic action game with a crazy and hilarious story.
I wanted to pick up this when it came out and it got lost in the backlog. retrolio had this for around $12.99, so it was good to take a gamble on. It isn’t as good as Killer 7 or No More Heroes, but still an enjoyable game. Many people dislike all of the dick jokes, but I found it to be hilarious, although it is a reoccurring theme through all the levels. As most 51 games, the story doesn’t make much sense, but the game play makes up for it. There are even throwbacks to some of capcoms older games like ghouls n goblins; in fact, one of the levels is named "great demon world village" the literal translation of the original series. There is no new game + and that really makes subsequent playthroughs cumbersome.
