This is what Once Upon a Monster should have been. It is the first truely interactive TV experience I’ve seen. Our daughter loves it. As a bonus, it comes with the “season pass” for xbox live. That gets you the game without needing to put the discs in as well as hours upon hours of classic clips from the show. I know my wife and I have actually spent time just watching clips from our childhood. The games are easy enough for a 3 year old to play, and they do not get stuck in a loop if the kid has trouble. This reduces frustration for the kids a lot.Highly recommend this and I look forward to more episodes of it.
This game is essentially 8 episodes (4 per disc) of a standard Sesame Street show, with light interactive elements throughout. For instance, Ernie is doing laundry for Bert and you (the kid) can jump up and down to make more bubbles. Or the Kinect camera puts the child into Elmo’s World and he/she can play an instrument along with the case. Each game-episode, like the show, focuses on a variety of topics in one session, like counting, shapes, or even some life lesson stories like growing up and moving on from a pacifier.I own both this and Once Upon a Monster:Pros:- using actual footage of the puppets, the characters animate way better and closer to the show.- the level of interactivity is easier for younger kids (i have a 3 year old). mostly consists of waving, pointing, jumping, and standing still.Cons:- content. there’s only 8 "episodes" and I have to swap discs. Once Upon a Monster has a lot more content, but it is a completely different kind of game. Once Upon a Monster is where you (the kid) go on an adventure with Elmo and Cookie Monster, doing stuff along the way (very taxing to my toddler who just wanted to sit down and watch at times.)Overall, I like this game a lot. The format is just like the show and I enjoy watching my kid be a part of Elmo’s World.
Unbelievable! Is what I’d say, if someone told me that they would ever have a Sesame Street show where kids could actually interact meaningfully with the characters via the TV. This is really incredible, my 3 year old loves it, the characters on the show actually talk and wait for a response from the child, they get to play, dance, learn and have tons of fun at the same time. Truly a wonderful piece of software, and one I’d recommend to any parent with a Kinect!
All my kids love this game (ages 3-8). Easy for all of them to use.
Great.
My son likes this game, but I love it! Kids get to interact and appear on screen with beloved Sesame Street characters. It’s so cute watching my son play catch with Elmo or bouncing around on the screen. 10/10 would buy again!
My daughter loves playing this and it seems to do a decent job tracking her movements.
I got this game for my son, who’s still a little young to understand it (15m) but he loves sesame street and I can’t wait until he’s old enough to play!
My 18 month old loved this. As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s more an interactive video than game. Nothing like seeing your little girl on the tv with elmo.
The game is awesome.
