Its got great songs. Love the feature where you can stop any song and practice a part until you get it right.
Love this game. I have a bass and a guitar and know a little about playing before using the game, but have learned a lot from playing it on a almost daily basis. It has helped me to recognize notes and chords, improved my finger dexterity, and i have learned several songs that i can now play without using the game.
I played the first Rocksmith and enjoyed trying to learn the songs and techniques. 2014 Rocksmith has some great songs and loads much faster than the first. Riff Repeater is tricky at first with all of the variables, but now I can practice any section of a song to level up my proficiency of both speed and accuracy. Then it feels like you are playing the song instead of practicing.I really miss career mode. I liked practicing four or five songs and then playing them back to back to an "audience." 2014’s Path is encouraging (mostly on songs I am trying to play already). There are 20 songs on the disc I have not tried yet. There are many more features that I have not explored very much–Session Mode, Score Attack and Games–I should be playing this for quite a while with no end to the game. DLC has been excellent so far as well.
I’ve played for forty years, and this is great for practicing .Like having a back up band. This is not a game!
if you really want to learn how to play this is the game to do it I have had it only 30 days and have already advanced to the next level and am now about to advance to the 3rd level this is one sweet game I chose the Bass to play even though you can play both I didn’t this game teaches you as you teach it in other words the more you show the game what you can do the game gets a lot more challenging try it you wont be disappointed I have both the first rocksmith and the 2014 edition
I prefer the old Rocksmith GUI and lesson progress but the new one clues you into your errors on riff repeater which is the reason I bought it. It takes out all the frustration of the old when I knew I nailed it…but rocksmith is tone deaf :)I haven’t played with the jam features but they look cool. Most of the songs are changed slightly, more accurate detail takes them to a new level of difficulty.
Love this game and a must buy for anyone who wants to play guitar. I had the first one while it was good in my opinion, this one really blows it out of the water. The only thing missing from this one is there is no more replay of you playing after you finish a song.
Just the fact that you can create thousands of tones is worth the price of admission. This is effectively a pod or an effects array, but all software based.Plus you can rock out to songs you know if you choose to. It’s great for beginners if you stick with it, and more experienced players will enjoy playing tracks once they get accustomed to the interface.
I’m not sure how many stars to give the product because it seems like a great way to spend time getting more skilled at playing my guitar. However, I am disappointed in Ubisoft’s support and want to post advice to other people who have had the problems I had. From the beginning, the game froze so frequently that it was unplayable. It usually completely froze up the Xbox, so I had to restart the Xbox every time to try again. After rebooting 10 times, I gave up and contacted Ubisoft support by email. 5 days later, I hadn’t heard anything, so I called. They agreed that I had a defective disk and sent me info on how to get it replaced. I was shocked to find that they charge a $15 replacement fee on top of making me pay to ship it to them (they have since clarified that if the disk doesn’t have scratches or burn marks, they will replace it for free, although I assume I’m still responsible for the shipping cost). So instead, I returned it to retrolio, who will pay for the return shipping and have a new game to me by tomorrow. If you have a problem with your disk, just return it to retrolio.
This is a great supplement to the music theory/practice DVD course I have been taking. It is very much a tutorial and is terrific fun as well.
