This is a great game what can I say. Acclaim did a great job here. I am a sega saturn collector I try to get my hands on as many copies of this game as possible and you should do the same.
Back in 1994, Rise of the Robots was released on SNES. This was a bad game of legendary proportions. It was hyped up so hard and when it dropped, people everywhere were shocked at how terrible it was. It was a fighting game with only 1 character to play as, on top of astronomically horrible gameplay. Strangely enough, it got a sequel 2 years later on the Saturn and PS1. This review will be covering the Saturn version. It’s worth noting that the names were swapped around for whatever reason. Resurrection: Rise 2 is the Saturn version, while Rise 2: Resurrection is the title of the PS1 version. It’s quite strange, really.Considering how hyped up the first game was, this game came out and flew straight under the radar. Most people don’t even know that it exists. Considering how bad the first game was, anything would be an improvement to it. I’ve got to give this game credit, because I can honestly say that Mirage, the developers, actually tried hard to revive their game franchise. Although this would be the last game ever in this short lived series, it went out with a bang and did a pretty good job of improving upon it’s past flaws. The game is a standard 1 on 1 fighting game. The Cyborg was the only playable character in the first game, but the developers went all out with this one and gave it a monstrous 18 character roster. All 6 robots who you would fight against in the first game return, as well as of course Cyborg himself. The characters are all different varieties of robot.
