Great game, played exactly as I remembered when I played it in fifth grade such a long, memory-card free weekend ago. Also, crazy effing hard.
As far as older games go, this is a hit to me. It has controls that are hard to get used to and movement that allows you to face any direction, but it comes at a learning cost. Still, this was one of the first games that I found myself able to turn and do what I wanted to do in and it was one of those games that started making play a bloody affair. When you start, you have enemies in the room with you so you can get to work aiming yourself at them. This is important, too, because you fire where you face. Enemies hide in shadows created by things, and they drop ammmo. The ammo thing is a good thing as well, because people take bullets and hitting takes time.As well as arming this way, you can also break things and arm yourself. This is nice since the items you see are not background anymore. A computer? Blow it up and arm yourself. The same goes for a lot of other stuff. When you find yourself getting accustomed to moving and firing, you find yourself having to open doors and having to use niches to hide in. This is not always easy to do because you are under fire, and hoarding life is the only sure way to get between places that sometimes chew up your ammo. Still, the difficulty is not bad – especially for people who know how to fight on more complex games. It reminds me of a Grand Theft Auto 2 type sight, only the view is a tilted angle.Good stuff. If you want to play a game that says “sleeper” and “age” on it, play this. i pulled it out a while back and remembered that I loved.
I don’t know why the reviews are so harsh with this game. For its time you have a great variety of weapons to choose from, the graphics are great, and it requires A TON of strategy to win without cheats.Compared to Re-Loaded this game is the same but 10x harder. This is a classic that should be re-made.
Just run around and kill everyone. Pretty fun.
This is one of the good playstation games you came play this and keep playing just lime the rpg games and survival horror games
Game was delivered safely, and comes complete with booklet. Works as expected.
Game was as fun as I remembered it to be. Smooth transaction.
When one thinks of Project Overkill, they think of “Loaded” automatically. Well, at least I do….Both P.O. and Loaded were released about the same time so many years ago….both had loads of gore and blood….but the difference was….Project Overkill was the actual success of the two.Sure, the controls take some getting used to, but this game is dang fun, period. And its not just kill, kill, kill- you have a assortment of tasks to complete….yes, keys to find, to unlock doors….but still, there’s something about this game that sucks you in.The one thing I really can appreciate is that you can’t go into a roomful of enemies guns-a-blazing….you’re dead meat most of the time if you do that. You actually have to either pick off the enemies that you can see from far away, or let them come to you a few at a time. Most of the enemies are retarded, yes, and they just charge after you when they see you, but its super fun being bad-a$$ and mutilating everything that moves.Graphics are pretty good for the time the game came out….it’s like a supercharged Super Nintendo game….9 out of 10 in that department. But graphics don’t make the game, the fun factor does….and if you get used to the multi-directional control, you’re looking at 10 out of 10 in the fun department. Sure, at first you’ll scream and yell and wonder why you’re shooting the wall instead of the jerk just northeast of you….but you’ll get used to it.Replay value- 10 out of 10….I still play this game….7 or 8 yea.
my husband loves this game he wanted a new one with the book
