This plays really well on my 360. I’ve beaten this game twice. There’s no need to start on the lowest difficulty since medium isn’t bad at all. I found a few chains were very difficult but after a few tries, it became no problem.
First of all, I adored the storyline from the get-go. The characters are well done, each with their own distinct personalities, likes, dislikes. Which, I might add, are incorporated into the battle system. Take for example, one character is terrified of bug-based creatures and is weakened while fighting against them, another may take a special liking to another character and will benefit by being in the party with them. The combat is far from complicated, but it is difficult to unleash combos that aren’t AAAA + finisher of sorts, and the items are poorly sorted in the battle menu, leaving you open for attacks. And death. I found myself pulling out hair until I switched from head-on attacks and became more of a support character. I also found my party being killed off fairly quickly, but the healing items work well when you can find them. The best part of the game aside from its graphics would have to be the story. I have yet to find a similar game. There is a character that I wanted like to smack around, and they don’t improve later on, but aside from that, I loved them all and found myself tearing up at some points. (LOL!) Trying to get around without many save points is a hassle, and when certain aspects of the game come into play, it gets even harder, but it provides an enjoyable challenge for those willing to take it.All together, the team setup, plot, characters, even the quests were enjoyable. It may be tough if you don’t have some patience, but when all is revealed it i.
I bought this game on black Friday, and I finished it yesterday. The game is no Final Fantasy, but the story is good, the action is satisfying, and the presentation is really good. Many professional reviewers beat on this game, but as a self-proclaimed “hard-core” gamer, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game.If you’re into JRPGs, this is one of the best ones on the market for the current generation of consoles.
Besides Final Fantasy, this may be one of my favorite RPGs ever. Love the story & everything. Got really addicting.
GREAT STORY, AWESOME RPG…
Thanks.
I personally never much cared for the JRPG’s – but this one…. more story, good endings, characters I liked.Fun Game!
I tought it was a good game pretty strong story and you actually grow attached to some of the party members.
The game was on time and everything was delivered as promised. The strategy guide as also added as promised and the game played perfectly.
When you first begin this game it seems extra linear; Find Sigmund, basic huh? Not so much. Right after you actually find, “Siggy” Capell gets sucked into this whole adventure involving death, action, and mystery. There are a few minor bad things in this game, such as the graphics in the main scenes being not so great. (Spoiler) I really hated when they had to kill off Faina & Leif, even Sigmund dieing was sad, when you knew who he actually was, I really cried when Faina & Leif died, by far the worst mistake on Square’s part. I really hated that the Secondary Characters cannot be on your main party, I really wanted to use Dominica or Seraphina (seeing as she has the highest MP ever). I would also love to see this game as a two-player co-op game, so I or someone else can control someone other than Capell (I want to be Michelle or Eugene). The total-real time battle system is one of my favs, it makes it so that you don’t have to spend near 5-10 mins on a single battle when 1 monster splits into 3+. Once you go into the Oradian Mountains the Battle-system helps you a lot here, monsters come back up to fight you again right when the Mini-Map goes out of view which makes you learn Michelle’s “Astro” very effecently. The amount of people you can play as is another good thing, the game gives you more than 10 people to choose from that you can put in your party which is more than enough to pick your specified party so that you can beat the game.I am not picky on how much I have played.
