We purchased this game to be used during our family game nights. It has turned out to be a favorite and is played almost daily now. I have 3 children that enjoy playing this game ranging from 8 to 5 years old. I would have to say every sport on this game gets played at least once during play. I would have to say the favorite game is bowling with tennis coming in next. The kids created their avatar to look like them (of course as an older version) and they thought that was cool. I would definitely recommend buying this game for any age group!
I’m gonna update this review at some point or another because at this point, I’ve only tried Boxing and Tennis. This is a great game with great mechanics and atmosphere. I played Sports Champions 1 as well, but found myself mostly playing ping pong. So when I saw that SC2 had tennis & boxing, I was thrilled to the hilt to see how the game was. I quickly got into the tennis and I like how it starts you off with ultra easy opponents and slowly walks you toward more difficult opponents, then equal opponents and then pushes you to be better with more difficult opponents. The Tennis is easy to learn and I found the nature of playing just like in real as far as where your hands are. If you get your hands tied up or out of place, you’re in trouble. If you don’t return your hands to center after every shot, you’re gonna get burned. Loved it.Then I tried the boxing and it is fantastic. Not only is it fun, but it is a workout and unlike most boxing video games, when the round was over, I didn’t skip the cut scene, I took the break, because I needed to take a breath. Sit down. Get a drink. Awesome!!Again, it starts you out with easy opponents and they get harder as you drop them. I found the easier opponents in boxing though, more challenging. I found that in the early fights, you really need to learn how to block punches and practice strategy and efficiency. Unlike most boxing games, you have to have a strategy. You can’t just throw 100 punches and not expect to get tired or be vulnerab.
So fun! Much better than the first one and has Party Mode where you can compete against up to 4 people in all the events. If you win you get to draw on your friends pic! More outfits and equipment to choose from and more personalization of your character (hair, eyes, face shape, skin tone, etc). You have to compete in the Cup Play to open locked stuff. My favorite part is that this game gets my kids off up out of their seats and away from their Ć¢ā¬ÅscreensĆ¢ā¬Ā which they always have their faces buried in. Lol! The whole family loves it. Great fun!
Perfect game! There are no words for it. It got here fast, it is good exercise for anyone and its super fun! I would recommend this game 100%. It is a must, the boxing and archery and bowling are by far the best games. It is much more fun using two controllers. You can also build your own avatar and create profiles for friends or family that want to play also. If someone else creates a profile, it is completely separate from your own. If you complete gold or silver or bronze level, that does not affect the other persons profile. Everyone in your family can join in the fun!
Sports Champions 2 is an improvement on its first iteration as a Move controller sports game that was available on ‘day one’ of the Move launch. It offers six activities:, Golf, Tennis, Bowling, Skiing, Archery, and Boxing. The game is a good buy if you own a Move controller and it’s at it best with FOUR. The controls don’t always work right, like the turning in skiing or hits in tennis, making the game very frustrating at times but the experience is generally good. The game is at its most immersive and gets you the maximum amount of fun on events such as Ski and Boxing when used with 2 Move controllers for a single player and 4 (FOUR) controllers if you are playing against another human. Not too many of use own 4 Moves but we were able to organize a 4-controller event by inviting in a friend who didn’t own SC2 but happened to have 2 controllers of his own.Golf and bowling work by doing the motions you would expect when golfing or bowling. In golf you can practice swings to get an idea of power and direction and you could aim and add spin to the ball in bowling. In Tennis your avatar does the running and you only need to worry about serving and hitting the ball at the right time. Hitting the ball every time and controlling where it goes takes practice.Archery works like shooting arrows in a shooting gallery. You grab an arrow on your back with the controller, and shooting in a way more like a gun, than accounting for the arch of a real arrow. You could use two controllers, but.
I happened to see this and recalled the fun I had playing SC1. SC2 seemed like a great reason to dust off the PS3, and it has NOT at all disappointed. This is a terrific game that expands well on the first release. Thus far I have battled through all of the table tennis (ping pong) matches and have spent a little bit of time on the other activities. If you are looking for some great entertainment along with a little bit of exercise on a cold winter day, this will surely provide all that and then some!
I bought this game primarily for the tennis and I’m not disappointed. Hands down it is the best tennis simulator available. I have played Virtua Tennis 4, Grand Slam 2 and Top Spin 4 and the Sports Champions 2 tennis beats them all as a simulator, easily. To be clear, if you’re looking for iconic courts, famous players and controller play then this is NOT the game for you. But if you want to simulate tennis in your living room and play challenging games with genuine tennis shots then look no further.Top spin, lobs, slices, passing shots . . . they’re all here and are performed with the Move controller exactly as if you were holding a tennis racket. It is scary realistic play. And challenging too. The game accommodates all skill levels and keeps it just challenging enough to keep you interested. As you progress through the game the opponents get tougher until you feel you’re up against Serena or Rafa. I am now playing a system opponent who never faults, reaches every cross-court shot and hits with full power! Challenging. This game has me sweating in minutes. Best thing is it rewards you for improving your skill and stamina.Buy it if you want to play real tennis. If you want button clicks and joystick action buy the others.
Irrational Exuberance! I am a senior citizen and having the Time Of My Life with this product. Having TWO motion controllers is a must for maximum enjoyment. Even the games I’m less enthusiastic about are Good (golf, archery). Boxing gives me a cardio workout full of sweat.Tennis and skiing also provide a decent workout. Bowling is just Pure Fun. This is one of the Best Purchases of ANY kind I’ve ever made. I always look forward to playing these games. They are challenging and force the mind to "adapt" to be successful, as in real-life sports. This product is worth TEN stars. Excellent Purchase. Love It, Love It, Love It!!!!
This is by far the best workout on PS3 to date. I only play it mainly for boxing & I love how when you progress through the CUp Play you get to have sparring sessions with a dummy robot player that offers intense training. You have to gain points by performing combos through upper & lower body blows not to mention blocking the dummy’s attacks as indicated by the movement indicators on the screen. I use it for a daily 30 min workout. I start with about 5 of these sparring sessions & then I do 3 actual fights. I guarantee you will be sweating a storm. I consider myself to be in rather decent shape (215 lbs 6’2) but this game has allowed me to tone & exercise while having so much fun. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is there are times I could be laying the CPU opponent out & then the CPU may catch me with a shot & my player gets knocked out. But I guess that can happen in real life boxing (just ask Tyson) too! This game is honestly the ONLY reason I am still holding onto my PS# & haven’t upgraded to PS4 yet. Once Sony confirms backward compatibility then I may move on to it but for now I really am enjoying this as a daily exercise program especially as winter is coming along & I do not want to train outdoors.Golf, tennis, & bowling are pretty decent as well. I think bowling is nice because my 4 yr old can play & do well but once you find a rhythm then you can easily bowl strikes so it takes some realism away. Tennis & golf are pretty accurate as well. If you disregard to cart.
