The graphics are great and the controls are simple. If you grew up playing the original NBA Jam both at the arcade and on consoles you will love this game. EA dropped the ball on Elite 11 but did a great job on NBA Jam. Thank you EA for bringing this game back!

This is where my experience is coming from:I started playing basket video games in the 80’s. Magic Johnson’s Fast Break was the first I had mastered. Once I get attached to a basketball video game, it is hard for me to move on; I will try others, but moving from one favorite to another is hard to do and doesn’t happen often. After Fast Break came NBA JAM. It was my favorite arcade style game. NBA Street Volume Two topped that and remained my favorite until this newest incantation of NBA JAM. IF you haven’t noticed the pattern yet, I can tell you that I love the simple arcade style play. Big moves and big blocks are a big draw for me.This game is now on top. It is going to take something amazing to make me switch my favorite again. Unlocking the old school players is great. The new controls are much different from anything I have used before (I loved that NBA Street Volume 2 still allowed me to use the control pad) but were very easy for an old dog like me to learn.If you started your gaming in the 80’s and love arcade style basketball, give this one a shot, it brings back the nostalgia of the original.Great game.
