I got this collection for Galaga ’88 as this is the only Namco Museum set on any home or portable console that actually has his game. I remember playing the hell out of this game on the Turbografx 16(called Galaga 90). The version on the Turbo was pretty good but it wasn’t quite arcade perfect(and it is difficult to locate a Galaga ’88 arcade game). So it is very nice to have this game included in this collection which plays and looks and sounds just like the arcade original.Other games in this set that are rarely seen anywhere(and also never included in any Namco Museum set) include DIG DUG II, KING&BALLON, PAC&PAL, SKY KID, and SKY KID DELUXE. Okay so the annoying thing about this collection is that there is a separate Xbox LIVE Arcade menu for games such as Ms. Pac Man, Xevious, Dig Dug where you are redirected to Xbox Live Arcade(and have to endure some loading time) in order to play. It’s kind of a clunky design forcing you to use your Xbox account. Great set of games! I remember spending tons of quarters at the arcade on these games. Great “pick-up & play” games. A little confusing on the second set of games, but I read the directions on the box and figured it out, so no worries there. I’m not an avid gamer, but I like not having to invest alot of time to get game satisfaction. Only down side is that (I feel) there are too many versions of a couple of games, but some people like that. Good buy!
had a fun sharing these blast from the past games with my grandkids, ages 5 and 3. They especially loved "Dig Dug"who’d a thought, lol
I’m a huge Pacman fan, which is the reason I got this game set. And I was not disappointed by it! Sure, some of the games suck (“King & Balloon”, anyone?) but that’s to be expected from a compilation disc set. I was overall satisfied by it because of the new and old Pacman and Galaga games, so that’s all that matters to me. 5 stars!
