I Got this game over the weekend, and my girlfriend had to pry the controller out of my hands to get me away from it. From the beginning, there is a lot of fun to be had. Many options and areas have to be unlocked, and finding things is half the fun. it’s a difficult game at times, but it’s still avery enjoyable game.
My son saved up his allowance for this. He is 7. … My son actually loved it. It’s fast paced, real fast paced. You have to be glued to the screen, literally or you will miss something as you race on by. He laughed a lot, but I am pretty sure he never quite figured out what he was doing. He stuck to one area of the game a lot, and I think it may be due to the fact that the other areas were a bit confusing. Thats makes for a difficult decision then. Most 7 year olds are very adept at playing and figuring out video games….. so should I reccomend this? Yes, for the money and the laughs, it’s well worth it. In a world filled with many many violent video games, seeing the Muppets zoom on by was rather refreshing for a change. He does not play it a lot, but when he does, he plays for more than 30 minutes if we let him.

As a big fan of kart racing games, I’ll buy just about any of them. Muppet Race Mania is pretty standard for the genre, but it does a good job of standing apart from the pack with its colorful courses based on the Muppet movies and, of course, the fun characters of the muppets themselves.The real treat here is stunt mode, which forces you to navigate some really tricky obstacle courses in loony muppet settings. These courses are more about controlling your kart than racing against time, and there are lots of clever contraptions to help you along the way. It’s harder than it sounds. Some of the stunt courses took me a loooooong time to complete. It’s an innovative feature that makes this game worth getting, even if you already own other kart games.And it’s a total bargain, too. How can you go wrong?
Great Game! You can play in adventure mode, battle mode or basic race around the track. I am having a great time with this game. If you enjoy the Muppets, you have to have this game! The music is very good; sound is good. Interaction with the other Muppets is a lot of fun.1) Cheat Codes are included on the back page (If you are interested). 2) Several tracks/themes to choose from based on the movies: Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets in Space, The Great Muppet Caper, etc. 3) Movie clips introduce new tracks (The Rainbow Connection song is recorded here!) 4) You have all of the best Muppets to choose from in your racing adventures
I figured this game would be a washout because of the low price…Boy was I wrong!!!!!!!!!My kids love it…even my 8 yr old gamer :)Easy to control and is just a really cute and fun game….:)
The Muppets are just the best, and it is so great to see a really fun Muppet game(especially after that horid Game Boy Color mess). "Muppet Race Mania" is a truly fun and fantastic game for the Playstation. First off the sheer number of racers at your disposal is terrific. The games starts out with only a few but a cheat is provided to open all of them-so don’t fret. They are all great characters too-Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzy, Rizzo, The Swedish Chef, and even BEAN BUNNY! What a treat(Bean rocks!). Also when you unlock certain secrets on the battle course you can use new characters to play them. For example if you beat "The Muppet Movie" battle coure you can battle as Sweetums. Anyway they all have a different kart that can be combined with another racer. There is also a good number of tracks to play(the stunt tracks are stupid but hey nothing is perfect), and by using the adventure mode you can access secrets that allow you to play all the course as a battle mode. There is even a Fraggle Rock course! No I ain’t lyin’!The game overall is tremedously fun to play. Each Muppet’s personality shines through. The graphics are great; capturing that whole Jim Henson atmosphere. The courses(some course have to be unlocked)follow the movies very well, and they offer lots of shorcuts and gameplay variety too. A little video is played before each one. The playcontrol isn’t as tight as it could be, but it isn’t terrible in anyway shape or form. And youn.
This game is so enjoyable!! There are races, challenge courses, and ‘stunts’!! It’s extremely challenging if you can’t figure out their little "secrets" ;-) I would highly recommend this game if you feel like laughing while exercising your playstation skills. Also, not only do you get to hear Kermit say, "Ha ha!", but you get to hear the Swedish Chef proclaim, "Shmork!!"
Most of the reviews are really positive.Some have said they lost interest in this game. Did you try the adventure game? For those of you not familiar with this game. THere is the standard race, a twisted metal combat game and as I mentioned the adventure game.Let me tell you about this game. You start out with a limited cast of players and cars. Some said that the cars are too hard to control, but if you play the adventure game you can win additional cars. You can win additional characters too. And you can win additional tracks. If you make it thru the adventure game you will have all characters and all the cars available for each character.What is the adventure game you ask? Well, you have a time limit to drive your muppet characters car around and explore. You pick up objects in that time limit. You get all the stars you get sometime. You find one of the racers not currently available…you then race them and if you win that character is available. I mean honestly I can not get into detail enough to tell you everything on this game. Really I rarely have enough interest in a game to finish, but this game I kept with it and I did.I just received a Playstation 2 and hope this game plays on my playstation 2. I doubt my memory card will work but I will have to play this game through so I have a fully stocked game.Honestly, in my opinion this was the best game I purchased for my Playstation 1 system in all the year. If you can find it get it!
After racing around the course, and completely losing control, I got kind of bored with this game. But then I found the Adventure mode, which is kind of hidden, and I started to really enjoy this game. The movie extras are awesome. But if your looking for a game that is just pure racing, this isn’t for you. You have missions on each course, and it takes time to figure them out. Then you get to race. I really enjoyed it.
