I was only using it to keep my legs inshape andAlso to train myself at getting better at DDR and to help me burn calories while getting ready for both spring and summer and to help tone both my legs as well and it had brought back memories of playing my fav dancing game and yes playing ddr can keep you in shape
bought this just so I could get back into DDR again. this style of mat is pretty flimsy, I’ll be needing to buy a foam pad if I want to hone my skills more. playing on difficult mode, the mat wasn’t sliding on the floor, but rather bunching up on the inside, if that makes sense. I have to be really aware of where my feet are so I don’t slip. use this on a hard surface instead of carpet, and wear socks.
They didn’t send me the same matt as the picture but it’s actually better and works like a charm so I’m not complaining.
I bought this for my girlfriend to play Stepmania on PC. It will not work out of the box with PC. If you’re tech savvy, the answers will guide you in the right direction. If you’re inexperienced with computer, I’d recommend using this only for the intended console.

These pads work well. They require a little work to stick to the floor. I am an extreme player meaning I go to the hardest difficulties when I play and nothing is more embarrassing than showing your friends your DDR skills and having the mat slip from underneath you. So… . I invested in some tape and have both DDR mats taped to the ground so that I can get my game on without purchasing a metal professional pad.First simply mop, sweep, remove your floor of any dirt or crud. Then, tape around all four edges until you have a solid and firm DDR area.I would personally use duct tape, but I have also used electrical tape and masking tape. Duct tape has done the best so far. I once cut hole into a carpet just so I could continue to play DDR and also because tape does not stick to carpet. I know from experience.
I used to play Dance Dance Revolution, and wanted to get back into it to work out. I didn’t want to invest the money into a more expensive dance mat until I was sure I’d use it frequently. This dance mat works perfectly for that. It’s also really convenient to be able to fold it and put it away when I’m not using it.The folds in the mat (due to packaging and also how I store it) can cause some issues with responsiveness if I don’t spend time straightening out the mat. Other than that, responsiveness has been fine. The sensors seem a bit small but it’s easy to work with. I’m worried the responsiveness will break down over time, as that happened with old mats we had- but that’s what you get with a plastic mat like this.On hardwood floors, so long as I wear socks, I’ve had no issues with this slipping around. I haven’t modded this either. I tried dancing with bare feet initially, since I thought I’d slip wearing socks, but the mat bunched up awkwardly and slid on the floor more. Wearing socks fixed this problem for me.Overall, it’s a great mat to start with, and as long as you’re aware of the finite life these sort of dance pads, it’s a good purchase. It’s getting me back into Dance Dance and it’s also making it really fun to do some cardio exercise :)
